Egypt has serious food problems as is, this Locust swarms may tip the delicate balance to starvation ? news say Egypt is not equipted to exterminate the swarms of 10's of Millions insects. so far a few thousands reached Israel but that's not a problem.

I have seen this three times in my life... Millions of them.. so many they were a dark cloud blotting out the sun. One year they stayed and had babies..

They were considered a boon .. because they provided protein for man and animals

Yes, I heard that, appreantly there is even a decree that Locust are Kosher (!), I guess that in ancient times after being hit with Lucost ppl needed to eat them just to survive so they made this Kosher decree....

Eastern Jews (the old immigrate ones) see them as some delicacy, they say they used to net them, clean them in water, pull out the wings, fry them to a crisp and its like chips "only with more meat" , yuk!!!!!

We loved it as children.. We'd put a piece of netting over our heads and go outdoors with tennis racquets to swat them. I never ate them, but my brothers did.. They were cooking them behind the cab stand.

    10 minutes?

    post up pics.....

    you egyptian lineage?

I mean, the original 'who'.................. ()ha()

Anyway, i am looking for a wall image. four jars, linked together, into a bulb (looks like 6 ft flower), with 'light' inside.

Electrolysis (baghdad battery style), for light, oxygen release. i saw the image a few decades back on tv and realized what it was rendering.

I have always wondered why the starving or those that would be starving after the bugs damaged their crops did not harvest tons of the locusts, dry them into almost pure protein flour to sell or eat. I am sure hundreds of tons could be harvested and sun dried. They taste good fried or baked too. If they tast like grasshoppers. If I couldnt beat them I'd eat em'

Where do you think the bible story writers got the idea of locust swarms from? This is just a natural earthly occurance that happens quite often.

And around the same time of the year,

we need to figure a way to use that "force of nature", perhaps charge them with positive ions and they can produce electricity while jumping around !

Train them to fly low in one direction only - against the paddle blades of windmill generators. How to teach them that? Put locust bait at border. Show one the bait. Take him back to the swarm. He communicates that bait is due east to all the other locust. Get the windmill genny ready for action. Simple

Yep ! While spraying at night before the locusts can fly again kills the locusts - presumeably making it unsuitable for roasting/human consumption.

Does anyone know what affect those chemicals have on the crops which would later find its way sold for human consumption ?

    Insects are FULL of protein.

Probably better than poisoned horse meat.

    - - - Updated - - -

    This.

Grubs also are full of protein and pure goodness.

    Waxworms, mealworms.

Sound horrible? No more so that eating prawns, imo.
