As per usual, we see the middle class PC deadbeats blaming the coppers for hoodie thuggery, and as a result, it breaks out elsewhere.
So how do YOU view it ?
Looting\violence\destruction of property is fine, unless YOU lose out ? (the usual PC belief)
There are people homeless because of these thugs. And the BBC/Politically correct are desperate to blame the police.
Instead of considering their "rights" the theoretical book should be thrown at them all. NOT to so encourages MORE - as we have seen last night.
I just wonder what percentage actually work for a living that caused this - and when I say "work" I don't mean dealing drugs.
One per cent ? Two ? ZERO ?
No. The ones who actually contribute to society would have been the VICTIMS of the riot.
Something that is always conveniently ignored by the tub thumpers.

Perhaps one shouldn't pull the wool over one's eyes!
    1. The Person killed/murdered/state murder by the police didn't have a gun!
    2. The police could of let the family know that it was a mistake instead of hiding the truth.
3.They could of spoken to the marchers! But didn't!
4.They should of been low profile instead of beating up a 16 year old girl that was on the march!

There is always two sided of a story...but like Kelly, Jean Charles de menzies and numerous others....the police get away with murder! As well as gagging the facts.....ie De menzes case.....17 independent witnesses stated the police lied! Every one of them!

    Tell me again....who's the victims?

Pray tell me.....If those that control the economy ensure that there are 5 people after one job....who's irresponsible for those that are unemployed?

Oooh and did you see all the Jews at the same riots??????

    Regards

I thought the "riot" was about cute Londoner chicks claiming they need to use nice guys for sex until they clamor for relationships, simply for the sake of gender relations.

Okay, I get all this -- trust me, I do. Nonetheless, how is channeling the anger felt at the police into destroying the property of innocent bystanders in any way acceptable? How would you feel if you just happened to live on the same block as the riots, and some malcontent inexplicably set your Mini ablaze? Decidedly miffed, I should imagine.

If people are going to be causing wanton destruction in the name of fighting policy brutality, they should at least have the courtesy to be smashing in the station windows instead of lobbing molotovs at Mr. Smith's Vauxhall.

These so called riots have nothing to do with "fighting policy brutality", "racism" or any percieved injustice. You can't possibly say that when these kids are burning ordinary people's cars, looting clothes, electrical & phone stores and attacking innocent bystanders.

These 'rioters' are just thugs. There's no excuse for what they are doing. Even if the cops did shoot an innocent man, this is not the reaction of normal, civilised human beings.

David Cameron is now going to end his vacation in Tuscany. Why can't the poor slobs die in silence? Where has the British phlegm gone?

These anarchist scum who are driving this have been ruining this country for decades. If we had a functional government, these scum would be detained and deported from this country. Whatever needs to happen to calm this violence must be done, even if they must shoot more of these scum.

Yes ....we know.....But I'd serve as an independent thinker.....not filled with my own bias or self importance and consider only factual information.

Emotions have nothing to do with judgement!

But you'd know nothing of this as previous post have proven!

But you have a nice day...see the birds...they fly!

An independent thinker, hmm? You'd convict on the basis of speculation and prejudice. I'd base that opinion on your previous posts.

As always, you have a nice day too.

    How do I see it?

The days of trusting the police without question are long gone, but there is absolutely no excuse for the rioters' behaviour. They're risking innocent people's lives and causing millions of pounds worth of damage that everyone else will be paying for, and blatantly looting. Their actions will provide no answers and will inevitably only harden attitudes towards them resulting in more powers for the state over the individual; the very thing they say they're against. Stupid fools.

The long term unemployment problem does not sit well with our supposed need for mass immigration. The benefits system is in desperate need of an overhaul.

I at not time have said I condoned these actions of those involved!

But at the same time...I look for agenda's, why now, why these riots...and at the same time look to see who's political agenda these "riot's" serve!
    Why the delay in action?
Why are the police holding back the fire brigade and allowing the buildings to burn? When only three individuals (rioters) are in attendance"
    Good/bad press?
    Or other reasons?

Am I cynical.....of course...past history teaches us if there lips are moving...they're lying!

heres what I think, the UK police appear to be extremely poorly trained in riot control, Im seeing them break ranks and retreating when confronted by rioters. Thats the opposite of what they are supposed to be doing. The riots are continuing because the rioters are aware they have the upper hand. The coppers need to be charging in formation not backing off, they appear to have extremely poor discipline, a very dismal effort.

That is how the London police are trained to deal with the riot. Kettling has been used before, think student protests and G8.

A major problem is that their not protesters, they are not marchers, they are looters and even if one group is successfully corralled thier is another forming in another area.

They were charging in formation, Ian. To a point. Then they were stopping. I don't know the reasons, but may be because they did not have enough support. I also know that wearing the big boots they have to wear and the armour, they are not able to run as fast as the people they were chasing. The kids were moving very fast and in different locations, I think the Police were just completely overstretched and all they could do was unsuccessfully try to contain it within an area.

They should have enough support now. 11 Forces around the UK have sent backup.

Highlander, do you have a link to a source for what you said about 17 witnesses etc?

I am as usual, torn. If the Police shot someone unjustly, you can appreciate people protesting and they are right to do so peacefully and make a strong point as if they don't, it authorises Police brutality and everyone suffers.

They are not right to protest violently and personally think the people who did are just a mob of opportunist eejits who were doing nothing better and took the chance to join in and act as teenagers sometime do in good weather...mindless violence. It happens sometimes, at this time of year.

They are also saying more organised people have now moved in and are using it in a more sinister but not unexpected way, to loot shops and profit from it.

If I read Highlander's post correctly, I see the point about the impending swathing cuts to the Police Force. Who is going to be able to say that cutting the Force is a good idea after this? People will say we need more Police, not less. But I don't think that is related to how the Police handled it (you cynic, Highlander :))

Still, after what caused the riots, the Police have really got to be cagey about how they approach it. If they take over-zealous action and anyone is hurt, how will the protestors/thugs react? In their eyes, it will justify even worse action on their part. Very difficult for the Police.

But bottom line, the Police have to stop it in its tracks. That is what they are paid for. To keep the peace.

Maybe the Army should be brought in, if it's beyond them. But people don't like to see the military on the streets.

If it were happening where I live, I'd be out on the street myself telling them to get to ***!@& (no I'm not joking really) and I think if the Police don't control it, that is what they risk happening. People are not going to put up with that crap for long.

they seem to be opportunistic looters. The break down of law and order is troubling.

No, I don't think it's related at all. They started protesting because a man was shot dead by the Police and people thought it was unjustified. We don't know the facts on that because it's under investigation and the Police are unable to discuss it yet.

The protest blew up into violence and now kids from everywhere are just using it to do whatever they want. It's happened here before, several times over years.

Its made FAR worse by the likes of Ken Livingston siding WITH the looters, and the corrupt PC brigade blaming everybody BUT them, and making "racism" an excuse for their looting and destruction.
Its time to clamp DOWN on these parasites. 80% of the people in these areas are just decent frightened people. Yet the PC brigade are stirring it to greater depths of destruction.

No, the riots are a manifestation of the general break down of social norms in marginalized areas. The rioters are from all races what unites them is poverty.

How many public school kids will be arrested in these disturbances?

That the rioters are deprived is not an excuse for their behaviour, it is still criminal and should be treated as such by the police.

But if serious attempts are not made to improve inter generational social mobility then the problems will continue to fester. More police or the army on the streets would be a band aid over a bullet hole the UK needs to deal with this problem.
