    Others can feel free to correct me but I'm gonna try and give the simple version of this. Essentially, Massachusetts has an assault weapons ban already in effect so by even saying "10,000 assault weapons were sold in this state," is blatantly false. Massachusetts defines an assault weapon as one with more than two of the following characteristics (aside from having a detachable magazine):
    (i) a folding or telescoping stock;
    (ii) a pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon ;
    (iii) a bayonet mount;
    (iv) a flash suppressor or threaded barrel designed to accommodate a flash suppressor; and
    (v) a grenade launcher;
    So what have gun manufacturers been doing? They've been selling AR-15s that are NOT assault weapons because they, usually (depending on what two features you want), without a telescoping or folding stock, without a bayonet mount (does real good for those mass bayonet murders), a flash suppressor or barrel that can accommodate one, or a (*)(*)(*)(*)ing grenade launcher because clearly we have a grenade launcher problem in America.
    NOW, because the Attorney General and politicians LOOOVE to exploit tragedies (conveniently no other tragedies were important enough to further infringe on our rights until the cops started getting killed), they're moving the goalposts and saying "Uhhh, that's not what we meant. Oh by the way you're a felon, congratulations!"
    NOT ONLY that, but then you have moron 2 at the podium saying "We have double digit homicides which could easily be triple digit homicides if our assault weapons ban didn't exist!" The dip(*)(*)(*)(*) fails to acknowledge that 30 round magazines are legal if manufactured before 1994, and anyone with internet and the mental prowess of a roll of (*)(*)(*)(*)ing toilet paper could turn a 10 round magazine back into a 30 round magazine.
    Whether you think everyone should be planting flowers and holding hands and that nobody should own any scary piece of metal is besides the point. This utterly ridiculous, unconstitutional act to, WITHOUT WARNING, come out and say "Hey this is banned now" after obviously working this in the shadows behind closed doors is something that should (*)(*)(*)(*) everyone off. Because for now it's your second amendment rights, and I know a lot of MA residents don't give a (*)(*)(*)(*) about them so for all you know it's a long time coming. But tomorrow it's your fourth amendment rights. Then it's your first amendment rights.

    Leftists did similar in my state.

    Its the whole rights thing that really gets them going.

    As with so many things the left does-it will backfire.

    Not just politically but also in enforcement and purchasing habits.

    Since the gun laws passed here a month or so ago, I have taken up a new hobby-air rifle target and pest control.

    I can shoot on my large property-and save my ammo a bit.

    Its also the kick in the pants to get seriously reloading again.
