    Because most murder is within one's own racial group. Thing is white people make up 58% of the US population but they are 42% of murder victims and 41% of suspects.

    Black people make up 12% of the population, they are 54% of murder victims and 55% of suspects.

    Go back and read what he said. It's post 2484 on page 100.

    I believe there are problems that are unique to Blacks in the US. By your post here, you do too. These problems should be addressed by the gov't IMO. That's part of its purpose as stated in the Preamble to the Constitution. Because they should be addressed by the gov't these problems are in fact political in nature. In this country, race is part of the political landscape. Saying it shouldn't be is simply denying reality.

    Then he goes on to imply gun violence is a problem mostly for Blacks. As if that somehow makes it less of a problem. It seems that in his mind it does.

    And let us not forget the hundreds of thousands of suicides by gun each year and it's whites that constitute the vast majority of them.

    Does that make it less of a problem? How so? Does the color of their skin somehow absolve the gov't from ensuring domestic tranquility for them or promote their general welfare? That's what the gov't is supposed to do according to our Constitution. You're missing the larger point.

    Since the gov't is a political body, it uses political means to solve problems. This problem involves race. Therefore race and politics are inextricably bound together.

    This guy can't have it both ways. If race shouldn't be a part of politics then the race of the community affected does not matter. If the race of the community matters then race should be a part of politics. This moron is trying to say both things.

    His subtext is clear: the problems of the Black community can and should be ignored.

    Again, personal choice although drugs affects the wider community.

    No but the government has for years been trying to solve this problem and got nowhere, the solution must come from within,

    It's the individual's choice to use drugs. Some good ones, like alcohol and possibly THC (depending on where you live) are legal.

    These are human beings. You get to give up when they're safe.
