Major Hurricane Ida Could Become Humanitarian Crisis for US

"Mandatory evacuations are being ordered in Louisiana on Friday as Ida gains strength in the gulf.

The center of Ida was located over western Cuba around 8 p.m. ET on Friday. Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, and western Cuba will face heavy rains, flash flooding, and mudslides throughout Friday evening."

'Steady to rapid strengthening is expected when Ida moves over the southeastern and central Gulf of Mexico over the weekend, and Ida is expected to be an extremely dangerous major hurricane when it approaches the northern Gulf coast on Sunday," the National Hurricane Center said in its Friday night advisory.'

Ida is expected to be a monster storm for New Orleans. Unlike Katrina, it's expected to make landfall to the SW of New Orleans, placing the city on the strongest side of the Storm. Many people have not evacuated, and city officials have told only people outside of the Levees to evacuate. If the levees fail, people will need to flee to crowded shelters, where Covid-19 will likely spread. There is also a lack of supplies and gas in the area. If the worst should happen, the area might experience a humanitarian crisis that removes Afghanistan from the headlines, and the event might pose a new challenge for the Biden Administration.

 

We shall see by and by. It's too early to panic.

Also, I'm pretty sure the Biden Administration is in charge of neither of those decisions... The Federal Government can only **** up the aftermath, not the precursor...

You are correct, and if the hurricane turns out to be a bad one these people that stayed will be begging for help and the those like the OP will blame them being there on Biden.

Just want it on the record that NO POTUS is responsible for flooding or levee issues... All they can do is provide money, FEMA, and moral support...

 

The US already has a humanitarian crisis. Many thousands of immigrants have been flowing across the southern border since Biden has been in office, with no health checks at all. Now Biden is bringing many thousands more of Afghanis here with no health checks.

Government and the medical industrial complex have successfully pushed dangerous injections on at least half the population, and in blatant violation of Nuremberg Charter, are injecting them into children too, with or without parents input.

How much more of a humanitarian crisis do we need? Ida will be a drop in the bucket.

Normally the president doesn't do any coordinating of evacuations why would they? Do the presidents check a privates rifle in basic training, according to political pundits he is supposed to.

From what I've been following, it is the surge and flooding that will be the major issue. The ground is already soaked.
