We need to allow students to bankrupt out of student debt AND they claw back 1/2 of the taxpayer loss from the institutions that received the taxpayer subsidies to give the student a marketable degree. With skin in the game, our Universities will get back on task and our nation will be the better for it.

Study finds ‘ideological similarity, hostility, and discrimination’ rampant in academic philosophy.

Remember, when taxpayers tire of funding this, we’ll be told it’s because of “anti-intellectualism.”

A new study surveying close to 800 academic philosophers finds that the field is rife with “hostility” and “discrimination” toward individuals with opposing viewpoints. The paper, which examines “distribution of and possible bias against political viewpoints in philosophy,” backs up previous findings in the field,

Nate Honeycutt, one of the study’s authors, said these findings represent a broad-based problem.

“The academy as a whole has an intellectual diversity problem…of which political diversity is a major subcomponent,” Honeycutt told The College Fix

It's just that what you offer is not germane to the topic. Tell us what you think of the survey. Is what is being taught in colleges good or bad for America? What are the alternatives, trade school, self learning, military training, etc. Your personal experiences can add value to this discussion. Debating Columbus might be interesting to discuss in Opinions or another forum section. :twocents:

Socially, yes. Just like the majority of Americans regardless of their political affiliation.

I can see what you are saying. I will take another look. I recall that someone went off into a partisan political route so we were diverted. As I said I will check.

Did you Google this, because this makes no sense and it doesn't even remotely address what I said.

First, computer science is about the study of software systems; there is no hardware side or electronic physics (or at least, there shouldn't be). All of that is covered in a field referred to as Computer Engineering; another field that is separate from Computer Programming and Computer Science.

Secondly, a "Software Engineer" is a very broad field and the way you're using it is entirely nebulous. If one is interviewing for a "Software Engineering position", one could be interviewing for a number of positions, including Application Software Developers and System Software Developers, Front-End/Back-End Task Managers, IT Maintainace, etc. Either of these may or may not be using programming languages at any point in time.

Finally, you haven't come anywhere close to addressing my point: Computer Science and Computer Programming are different things.

Do you even know what a programming language looks like? Can you name any programming languages and note their distinct differences? If so, you'll understand why this sentence doesn't make any sense. And "structure" of a programming language is referred to as a syntax...

Speaking in general terms, conservatives tend to support the world view & lifestyle they are most familiar with. Universities teach us about world views & lifestyles outside our own, & by becoming familiar with them, we automatically find segments or aspects of those "foreign" ones that we feel are more accurate or more comfortable than the one we're familiar with. Thus, college broadens what we are personally conscious of. By broadening ourselves & opening up to alternative points of view, or becoming aware of a broader realm of information from which to make choices or decisions, we become more liberal. Liberals are generally more conscious of the merits of alternative choices, & more open to them. Conservatives tend to believe their way is the best way or the only way, & remain unfamiliar with or distrustful of alternatives.

Who gives a sht what they're suppose to do according to school policy. Just like the mayor of Portland who talks a good game about ANTIFA violence and then ignores everything they do turning a blind eye.
