It was pointed out to you that the insured also file for medical bankruptcy.

Now the SAME scenario under a UHC

Ambulance trip to the Hospital = $ 0 (at least in my state - we pay a levy for the service - other states it can be per kilometre.
Now let’s say you have that heart attack “way out west” and nowhere near a Cath lab

Ambulance takes you to the nearest health centre (might be a nurse run clinic for some of the desert communities) they assess you and do blood tests =$0
The health centre calls the Royal Flying Doctor Service cost $0
You are taken to the nearest large hospital (which could be a couple of hundred kilometres away) cost $0
If that hospital does not have a Cath lab (you have to be big enough to have at least the possibility to open the chest to have a Cath lab) then you are flown on to the nearest hospital WITH a Cath lab. Cost = $0 (some of this broken journey is simply the distance you can fly in a small plane - some centres are over 1.5 thousand kilometres from a tertiary hospital) Ambulance from plane to hospital $0. Cath lab $0 stay in hospital $0 discharge medications - subsidised cost
cost to fly nearest and dearest to be at your side $0 (they have to get their own transport and accomodation unless special circumstances)
    Post op follow up $0
    Cardiac rehab - cost $0

The one thing that every country with a UHC has in common is that it is political suicide to fiddle with it. We do hold the right to complain about it but we won’t trade it for your system for anything

How?! You could double the '16 polling error in Trump's favor and Biden still wins.

Coming together doesn't mean that Democrats should govern like Republicans. Anybody who expects that is too partisan and way beyond hope.

I'm talking about gaining ground to change the Nation into a collective ideal at the expense of the individual.

I'm not putting the blame on being sick, I'm putting the blame on paying for medical expense. Hell I have a friend whose mom had an aneurysm burst and had to have emergency brain surgery. She's still just as functional as she was before the surgery, but now she has a $500,000 debt.

    You named two problems.
Aneurysm. That I do not know how to avoid. It is not diet or exercise, it happens to some and not to most of us.
    $500,000 debt.

How much cheaper would surgery be but for the regulations from Government? We should see lower prices due to Government and not much higher costs. Doctors and hospitals are forced to pay super high insurance costs. Most do not consider those high expenses. They feel doctors and hospitals deserve ultra high premiums to insure themselves.
Are there ways to lower costs to educate doctors?
Are there lower cost ways to treat patients?

Isolate all the costs of doctors and hospitals and see what to do to lower those costs. See, those costs end up in your bill or my bill.

We govern with the tiny hands, the extra light weight hands and you get the most freedom from us ever.

Democrats befuddle me how they can support the party that constantly churns out laws and regulations.

If it moves, they regulate it. If it costs money, they tax it. If it moves fast, they rush faster to take the freedom from them. If a person speaks up for freedom he or she will be called vile names as were Freedom some kind of disease of vice.

That's because you fell prey of a narrative that was designed by the right for the purpose of befuddling you. A very common tactic on the right. It's based on implanting in your mind the concept of "regulations" as a generalization. Each and every regulation has a reason. There is a reason why there is a regulation that doesn't allow the use of Asbestos in building. Or the regulation that airline pilots have a maximum number of work hours. It would be more profitable for airlines to force pilots to fly until they can no longer stay awake. But it costs lives. And you would probably agree with most of these regulations

So big corporations don't want you to analyze individual regulations. That's why they feed you the narrative "regulations are bad". By making it general they hope to befuddle you into looking at them as some fuzzy "enemy" that must be destroyed. Because if you looked at them individually, you might agree with some of them. And that affects their bottom line.

    Breaking news
Trump knows he's going to lose, so he will do anything he can to derail the election. His mobsters are already busy blocking roads in NY and NJ.

Here's my prediction for the election: Trump tops "Big Guy gets 10%" Biden, Republicans take the House with 30+ new seats and 6+ new Senators.

My prediction is more tragic. I think that we will see a return of the Lincoln curse and whoever is elected in 2020 will die in office.
We have failed as a country in the past 4 years and there may be unintended consequences for our actions.
