It doesn't matter what the commodity, the solution to price pressure is more supply.
    Increasing supply always works.
    I said 1981.
    Increase supply
The Middle and Working class had great wage gains under Trump.
    Increase supply.
    It's a truthbomb.

YOU ARE GOING TO TELL US HOW TO WIN ELECTIONS? Dempocalypse: Quinnipiac poll shows Biden approval at -37 among young adults.

Colleagues worry Dianne Feinstein is now mentally unfit to serve. “They said that the memory lapses do not appear to be constant and that some days she is nearly as sharp as she used to be. During the March confirmation hearing for soon-to-be-Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, Feinstein appeared composed as she read pertinent questions, though she repeated comments to Jackson about the judge’s composure in the face of tough questioning. But some close to her said that on her most difficult days, she does not seem to fully recognize even longtime colleagues.”

Increasing supply of goods and services will increase the risk of supply push inflation. As production costs increases, so will prices, which will result in more inflation. The key to controlling inflation is the money supply, not the supply in goods and services. Understand now Zorro? It is why we want to control inflation from the monetary standpoint, not a fiscal policy standpoint.

    https://www.investopedia.com/articl...gate supply of,results in cost-push inflation.

The middle class had one year, 2018, in some wage gains, which is a component of increased production costs which increases inflation in a supply push inflation. Inflation is always a laging indicator and in 2020 and 2021, because of the pandemic, those wages went bye-bye to most people, especially the entertainment and service industry jobs, like restaurants for instance. However, that one year does not negate the nearly 4 decades of stagnant wage growth while all other costs around them went up, especially housing, transportation, and other services.

Finally, the only poll I am interested in is on election day. Yes, Biden poll numbers are down; however, over the past 6 years, even Trump numbers were not that great and he won one Presidential election and lost another. Furthermore, I said for Biden and the Dems, inflation and consumer confidence are big concerns because most voters vote with their wallets. GOP found that out in 2012 with Obama, didn't they.

    Supply doesn't "push" inflation.
No it isn't. The price paid at the point of sale is price point.
Working and Middle Class wages rose faster under Trump than they did in the previous 20 years, combined. The solutions aren't difficult, it's just that the political class doesn't want this, so it took an outsider, and he had it in place very very quickly. Then with the tainted election, we got a political insider, and immediately we had inflation, skyrocketing prices, shortages and the reversing of all those wage gains. It wasn't an accident.
Sure, you guys are going to sweep 2022.

McCain was never slandered and "trashed" like Manchin. Democrats called him a racist like they always do.

They all do. They all follow the crowd to some extant. Manchin's voting record is not conservative.

Did you read my post? Democrats slandered him and called him a racist and other horrible things. They are damn lucky he has not become an independent.

I think it is high time for price controls. They are a common wartime solution and this is certainly wartime, though we are not in the actual combat component.

Either stop buying unless you really need it or get rid of covid.
Since neither is going to happen, learn to live with it until the world rebalanced. Your economy is intricately woven into the global economy and if you retreated, your inflation would be even worse as your supply would shrink even more.

They voted Joe in because they like his character, they don't go by results. And as America has morphed into the Titanic and began to sink, the Democrats say, "What a great captain".

You vote in the same caucus with them, under the same party banner.

I'm sorry you're going to have to clear that up a little bit..........

Have you forgotten that there was a failed attempt, in Congress, by Republicans, to reject the electors from several states? Well there has been a documented push, within the GOP, by this element in the Party, initially urged by Steve Bannon-- didn't you reply to that thread of mine?-- to replace all the "spineless," Republicans, who were unwilling to decertify results, with people who believe that the election should have been overturned. So it is not inconceivable, that there will be a similar, though better orchestrated, push for the same thing, in 2024, should the Republican candidate come up on the short end of the electoral vote stick. This would be a strictly partisan vote but one, even if Manchin had switched Parties, he would not be able to support, against our country's democratic underpinnings. But you see how the GOP is currently treating members like Liz Cheney, who put the fundamentals of our system, above Party allegiance. Who in their right mind would join a Party, knowing that it might try to pull that kind of bull crap, and knowing that he would have to call it out, for what it was?

All Wrong. The correct answer is always "increase supply". Biden and the Dems just have gimmicks, lies, and spin.

I could care less about blow-hard Steve Bannon. Have you forgotten that in the previous two elections there were failed attempts, in Congress, by Democrats to reject electors from several states. They tried what they believed were legal and constitutional remedies to change the outcome.

And it was the Republicans who proposed the changes to the Electoral Voting Act to insure that members of Congress nor the VP could decertify electors once they are certified by their reflective states and the Dems opposed.

And yes if you engage in a fundamental disagreement with your party order to support the opposition clearly partisan bogus motives and even try to get a high official in your party, whether current or formal, charged with a crime against the party position you are going lost your position in that party caucus DUH.

Most people need to shop somewhere else. Hit up the lidl or aldi's. Sure their prices are up some, but still a ton cheaper than Kroger, etc.

I could not have forgotten something, of which I had never been aware-- please give links to the things you are alleging about Democrats. I have never heard about Dems trying to reject any official electors.

Democrats who praised 2004 objections to Electoral College certification now slam Hawley
Democrats objected to electoral vote certification last 3 times a Republican was elected president

...The last three times a Republican has been elected president -- Trump in 2016 and George W. Bush in both 2000 and 2004 -- Democrats in the House have brought objections to the electoral votes in states the GOP nominee won. In early 2005 specifically, Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., along with Rep. Stephanie Tubbs, D-Ohio, objected to Bush's 2004 electoral votes in Ohio.

That forced the chambers to leave their joint session and debate separately for two hours on whether to reject Ohio's electoral votes. Neither did. But the objection by Boxer and Tubbs serves as a modern precedent for what is likely to happen in Congress on Jan. 6.

Notably, some Democrats lauded Boxer's move at the time, including Durbin himself.

"Some may criticize our colleague from California for bringing us here for this brief debate," Durbin said on the Senate floor following Boxer's objection, while noting that he would vote to certify the Ohio electoral votes for Bush. "I thank her for doing that because it gives members an opportunity once again on a bipartisan basis to look at a challenge that we face not just in the last election in one State but in many States."

Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., is another senator who previously praised Boxer.

"I believe that Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) and Representative Stephanie Tubbs Jones (D-OH) have performed a very valuable public service in bringing this debate before the Congress. As Americans, we should all be troubled by reports of voting problems in many parts of the country," Van Hollen, at the time a House member, said in a press release. "I have been particularly concerned about the lack of a verifiable paper record in connection with electronic voting systems. I am proud to be a co-sponsor of legislation to solve that problem."...

So what exactly should Manchin stay a Democrat especially the manner in which the Dem leadership and other members so demean and criticize him?

Here's my first piece.of advice. Don vote in an administration that rules based less on reality and more on hopes and dreams.

    Let's start there.

It is a very poor article, you cite. Apparently, of the three instances enumerated, only the 2005 objection led even to a debate, presumably because no Senators signed on to the other objections. Yet the objections in 2001 & 2017 were lodged anyway, knowing they would fail. Clearly, these were not attempts to overturn an electoral result, but merely chances to note objections, in the record. Those are two very different things (and in the 2000 election, with its hanging chad scandal, it is hardly surprising that anyone would wish to lodge complaints, and there was nothing imaginary about the disputed ballots).

Even for the one instance which did lead to Congressional debate over whether Ohio's electoral votes should be accepted, this was Senator Van Holland's take:

    [Snip]
Van Hollen also made clear in 2005 that he accepted the result of the presidential election that Bush won, saying, "It would have been irresponsible to use the certification process to attempt to change that result. Doing so would establish a terrible precedent." Nevertheless, Van Hollen slammed Hawley on Wednesday.

Sen. Hawley’s actions are grossly irresponsible. He’s attempting to undermine our democratic process, fuel Trump’s lies about voter fraud, and delay the certification of Biden’s win," Van Hollen said in a tweet. "In the end, this reckless stunt will fail, and Joe Biden will become President on Jan. 20, 2021."

    [End snip]

So there is nothing inconsistent, there.
Also, your FOX article did not describe what had been the issue, from which arose the 2005 objection. There is a world of difference, between requiring debate over real, and meaningful abnormalities in the voting process, which are not even expected to change the result, and an actual attempt to overturn an election, based on unsupported rumors, and fantastic imagination.

Can you not recognize that these are utterly different things?

    We'll see.

Cruelest Indeed: There Have Been Just 4 Months Since 1973 As Horrific As April

"... a month where S&P 500 returns fall more than -5% AND US Treasuries fall more than -2%."

60/40 split between Stock/Bonds so that one goes down while the other goes up? Not in the Biden/Dem crunch with devastating and foolishly engineered inflation.

Don't expect Biden and the Dems to be any help, the battle will be to work to prevent them from screwing up even worse. They are irresistibly drawn to whatever craps things up the most completely.

Joe Manchin voted FOR the bill that it the hell fires of inflation. And now his "deficit reduction" plan, doesn't.

IN OTHER WORDS, IT’S NEVER COMING AT ALL: CBO: Over 90 Percent of Promised Deficit Reduction in Manchin–Schumer Would Come after 2026.

"Congressional Budget Office shows that over 90 percent of the promised deficit reduction in the bill would come after 2026 — meaning it would do absolutely nothing to help reduce the current inflation problem."

Doubles the size of the IRS.

"The basic mechanics of Manchin–Schumer is that it spends hundreds of billions of dollars on green-energy initiatives and an Obamacare expansion."

The only puzzling part, is that you say that, as if it were a bad thing.

    Healthcare = good thing.

Human-driven Climate change = bad thing.

Also, green energy is both the future's, and today's, top growth industry. Investment in it is the smart thing to do (and it is so obvious, one does not even have to be that smart, to recognize this), even if one only cares about economic development, and couldn't give a rat's ass, about the state of our environment, and the cataclysmic repercussions that it will have-- again, even with no concern for anything but our own, narrow minded, self interest-- in regard to things like migrating human populations (i.e., immigrants).

The way that is best- proven, to increase government revenues, is to invest in more income tax auditors.

As opposed to what action, that you would champion, for immediately lowering inflation? I imagine you are aware that the belief that government can, and should attempt to do this, on the macro scale, other than through FED policy, was ultimately conceded to only compound our woes, from inflation?
