Forms are sent to an address, there are no questions about citizenship so there is nothing stopping illegals from filling it out. You think that number comes from census info anyway? Get real.

Not in the winter, I guess.
But one can always drill a hole in the ice and have some drinking water and also catch plenty of fish. ;)

In winter, there are a lot of nuts in the pine cones. In addition, Russian berries are not afraid of frost.

I agree. I generally like their laws on many issues though.

In California they regulate everything including guns and ammunition and protect all good tasting critters.

I don't get this chart, you can get 300 a month as a single person in mississippi and 100 just in food stamps where does this $60.00 a month come from

A recent report by CBS News said that 40% of WORKING AMERICANS are one missed pay check away from a financial crisis, as they have little to no savings. To me that is poverty.

Perhaps in the prisons. You can survive on 1.90 per month when someone else provides the shelter, clothing and food.

In San Francisco "street people" are offered $70 a month in cash plus food stamps (most prefer not).

That would be mathematics; apparently there are 884,363 people residing in San Francisco, 1% of that would be 8,843.63, five percent would be 44,215, so 1-5% would be 8,843 to 44,215 people, how many poor people do you think live in San Francisco?

I think thousand and thousands do. I dont think there are 8800 people only getting 70 dollars a month. My guess is that hey panhandle at least a an average of 5 dollars a day. The only way I can agree with that 60 dollar figure is if they counted prisoners and don't you think that extrapolating a liberal major city to the rest of the population is weak.

Yes, I doubt San Francisco's homeless survive on $70/month, this would be impossible. They're offered that and it has been reported they reject the offer. I suppose these people survive by other means, sharing, stealing, begging...

****, they can give me the 70, I will be happy to take it. Why the hell would be not take the money? I understand not food stamps as you need to provide an address that has cooking facilities an if you are homeless- that is tough to do.
