They’re playing word games. If the border was secure NO ONE would cross it. Even Mexico bitched about guns being sent across the border into Mexico. What surprises me is that someone would say the border is secure when millions were known to cross it. On top of that, claiming the border is secure probably pisses off the open borders crowd on the left.

Its the culture of the left. When they can't dispute something they start with their word twisting garbage that only a 5 year would buy into

    MTG is a Complete IDIOT!
She obviously has No Clue about International Politics...
BUT, as long as her voters don't feel embarrassed by sending a Whackjob to Congress...
America will have to put up with her Moronic Brain Diarrhea...

I think it's become obvious why it's become increasingly impossible to have discussions with progressives on issues; they're living in some Beto fantasy land.

If they can't win an argument on its merits, its on to word twisting, new definitions, and pretend land.

    A bit nutty…? The woman is a moron…

If she’d been in power in the 50s/60s, the US would have lost the Cold War…

Is the border "open"? No. Is it porous and unsecured? Without a doubt yes. Even if we do deport someone with in a few months they will be back. But you know this.

    I read the OP.

    I read the article.

That said, I didn't see anybody use the phrase open borders so way to go inventing something to respond to that nobody said.

    BUT EVEN SO.......

You're still arguing a technicality. Regardless of which phrase you use, the border is an absolute disaster right now because the democrats don't give a ****. So keep playing your word games and try to argue a technicality, facts are facts and you can't get around them. The border is a disaster and voters care. Ignore facts as much as you like.

Its wonderful how you lefties are playing word twisting games while voters are getting rid of your representatives.
    I just love it
Everyone (including you) knows what open boarders mean.
But you go ahead and play in pretend land while we mop up the Midterms.

    This is "alarming"? How so?

I've been asking but have yet to receive a definitive answer. Why is Ukraine's situation our problem in the US? The EU is right next door to that conflict. NATO is mostly right next door to that conflict. Russia being classic Russia over there is a whole lot of Europe's problem and if Europe has such a strong opinion of it then Europe is more than welcome to put their money where their mouth is and start footing this bill. Sure some EU nations are contributing but not enough. I don't even mind the US helping, Russia is a historic enemy of the US and a rival on the global stage so them failing at whatever they want to do globally is a positive for me seeing how I want only the US to be the sole power in the world. Same with China and I hope they fail too. But Europe should be footing this bill primarily, we will give a small percentage proportional to how actual "screwed" we'd be if Russia succeeds with it's goals in Ukraine. In layman's terms, it would be MUCH worse for Europe than America, pay up and save yourselves.

But at the end of the day Russia really is primarily a European problem, not ours anymore. This is Russia, they are not the USSR anymore. Let me repeat, this is Russia they are not the USSR anymore. They are not the global super power they once were who REQUIRED American counter pressure to hopefully keep the Communist Soviets from gaining majority influence and power on the global stage. This is Russia, they are the remnants of the old powerful USSR.

Europe can handle them, we have our own problems in America and I'm pretty sure our own citizens could benefit greatly from introducing those BILLIONS of dollars into our own society over here.

I love how so many in this country kept complaining about the US playing "Team America World Police" years ago but are now perfectly fine with the US playing world police with our checkbook to support a country that the majority of Americans only knowledge of is "that place where I think that nuclear power plant thingy melted before I was even born".

Easily defeated by NATO, even without heavy American involement. But then, who would pay for it? NATO likes America paying for such things and carrying the burden.

Which is yet another reason why America's defense budget is "bigger than the next 9 nations below it combined".

It's easy to spend little on your own defense budget when you know Team America World Police will foot the majority of the bill and do the majority of the dying on your behalf in the event of a modern day global conflict. Many folks in the US complain about American "social" programs and compare us to European nations and cite the American massive defense budget as part of the problem. Well part of the reason why Europe is able to get away with that is because WE are Europe's "military".

If a legit WW3 kicked off tomorrow guess who's bringing the most equipment and troops and money and suffering the most causalities. I'll give everybody a hint, it ain't Norway.

But low and behold it's some sort of radical "far right wing alarmist" idea to make Europe start pulling out their own checkbooks to handle a bad situation that is on THEIR border. Last time I looked at a globe the United States was way "way over here". And there's a huge body of water between us and Europe. Would American citizens "notice" if Russia completely conquered Ukraine? Yeah we would actually to some extent. But guess who's citizens would "notice" WAY MORE, France's.

Pay up. Plus Russia has been a historic pain in Europe's ass for hundreds of years regardless of what form they happen to take at any given moment. How about Europe finally learn how to deal with that big country with it's massive army that's been annoying that whole area since the damn sword was the weapon of choice for war.
