If you grew up thinking that FOUR witnesses were required to prove rape (which is what Islamic Law states, what the Islamic texts state, because Mohammad said that), and that if the woman can not prove rape then SHE is tortured for having committed adultery (so of course she's less likely to try to prosecute you!) then of course you might be far less worried about getting caught committing rape. So their religion is largely to blame for the rape epidemic that we are seeing.
