Is that dummy concerned about the money we send to Russia? https://www.foreignassistance.gov/cd/russia/

I'll bet he'll flip out if we dropped Israel = https://www.foreignassistance.gov/cd/israel/

The last line of your post is foolishness. Like I posted previously, in any war, it's relative who's the aggressor and who's been invaded.

I don't see any special merit for advocating for Ukraine or Russia...This is where we differ. I advocate for the US.

The problem is most congressional republicans, the swamp creatures McConnell, Romney and Graham in the Senate, et al, do approve of aid to Ukraine.

The average GOP voter is much different than the GOP swamp creatures in congress and this needs to change.

Step one: Shovel free taxpayer money into the country so it can purchase weapons and energy from your buddies.

Step two: send your military in to "train" forces to use your weapons and surveillance systems.

Step three: Control government by threatening to withhold the free taxpayer money.

Step four: Provoke conflict. Fan flames. Construct narrative for war.

    Step five: He started it.

    Don't forget these important steps:
    (1) Make money from the Ukrainian government.
    (2) Falsely accuse Russia of being communist or falsely accuse Russia of working toward making the current border or Russia equal to the former border of the USSR.

I meant both of those under 1 and 4.

Not mentioned, was the strategic importance of control of energy and resources through the country to the black sea. We choked them to the west with trade sanctions. locked the back door, and then set their porch on fire.

This war totally all their fault, 'cause we never provoked them...

History never repeats. It just rhymes. We'll forget about Ukraine faster than we forgot about Iraq.

Wouldn't it be something if 20 years from now after Ukraine has been completely trashed, mujahideen, I mean Ukrainian fighters crash planes into buildings in the US for pumping and dumping them.

Well maybe I missed that thread, but I'm a Republican who opposed the war since before it started, and wanted negotiations. But I'll admit that's probably a minority (although a large minority) of Republican voters. Of course Congressional Republicans are a different story and they mostly support the war.

I don't like this war but doing nothing isn't an option. This has ramifications beyond Ukraine. And even if it were just contained within Ukraine it's still a problem.

Putin needs to find himself a cancer and get cozy with it

You still have it backward. Russia sees the Ukraine war as a war of insurrection. Putin wants the OLD USSR back. He has made that statement several times in the past decade. The British called our War of Independence as the War of Insurrection. Keep in mind, we were all British. And Putin still thinks Ukraine should still be part of the Russian influence of the old USSR.

It won't be poland next, it will be Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania, then the rest of the Republic of Georgia. That will keep Kazakhstan and Turkistan in line. Then it will be Poland.

Well not surprisingly I disagree. Doing nothing was an option and before NATO involvement it's ramifications were limited to Ukraine. Of course that's water under the deep sea pipelines now.

Too many global negative outcomes by doing nothing. We tried doing nothing in Georgie and again in Crimea. Iran, NK and China are watching. Doing nothing would have disastrous results moving forward globally. And if you are under the impression that there is not going to be a confrontation between China and the United States at some point, you are living in la la land.

Right now NATO coming together and showing solidarity and strength is your best means of preventing global nuclear proliferation. There was absolutely no chance you could just ignore this. None. Maybe if Russia was just intent on going into Ukraine, slapping it up a bit and then leaving. But conquering land? Like they did in 2014? Nope. That **** needs to stop. And a message to those would try in the future simply because they happen to own a nuke doesn't mean they get to run roughshod over their neighbors.

Someone who wants to live with their head in the sand believes we had the option to do nothing here.

Maybe Poland would have been a different situation. But my point about China is still true. China wants Taiwan bad. Taiwan accounts for 65% of the world’s semiconductor production, which includes silicon. Semiconductors are used in pretty much every electronic component you own. Imagine if china took over the country that produced more than half of the semiconductors needed to build electronics. Don’t you think China would be emboldened to try if nobody lifted a finger for Ukraine?

Besides, Putin is today’s Hitler. We can’t let his aggression go unanswered because today’s Neville Chamberlains want to stay out. Though I suspect many of Ukraine haters are Putin supporters in disguise.

It’s not about Ukraine being an enemy. It’s about this conflict is no up to the US to solve. We have no business sending tens of billions of dollars every month or so to Ukraine. We are not the world’s piggy bank.

I'm conservative. I just have enough sense to understand causality.
