It seems you haven't actually reviewed the history of this matter.

Or the constitutionality of recalling Senators.

That seems to be the way the Senate has been operating in recent decades, yes.

We haven't had that situation arises recently, but it wouldn't surprise me if an opposition party refused most of a President's nominations if they could. That's certainly how they've voted recently.

Actually, they were in the same position about four years ago. They whined and stomped their feet because the GOP Controlled Senate would not bring Obama's nominee to the floor for a vote. It was the GOP position that the next President should fill the seat that was vacated by Scalia's death. The GOP held control of the Senate. So, President Trump filled the seat. Now, we are in the same position again, but the tables are turned. There is a GOP President, and the another vacant seat. The other commonality of this situation as in 2016, is that the Justice that died is on the opposite political fence from the sitting President. Yet, there is one factor that has not switched sides. The GOP still has control of the Senate.

The DNC wants to talk about how the GOP changed sides, but have ignored the fact that they have done the same thing. If it was right for Obama to appoint a Justice his last year in office, then why would it be wrong for President Trump to do the same thing now? There is no political high road here, but there are plenty of chances for taking the low road. Pelosi threating to Impeach the President in order to stop him from making an appointment. Or threatening to load the SCOTUS with new seats if they don't get their way. Then there is the whole call to burn Washington DC to the ground if the President makes an appointment. It would be nice that to see a voice of reason from the DNC to calm this issue, but that is not likely going to happen.

I think every President would be proud to be impeached twice.

Their attitude in getting this done ASAP suggests to me that Trump and his followers are not confident in winning the upcoming elections.

This one has no idea what it actually means... If (when) the D's win the Senate and Trump somehow retains the WH and Trump is impeached then removed in March, his first response will be Hillary's response - "What happened?"

Or are you indicating he will be impeached again before this election?? That won't happen...

If I were Mitch McConnell's wife, I'd ask for 2 forms of picture ID before he asked for sex...

Biden is not an angel ...but he is not a scumbag like trump

biden was not nailin pornstars and paying them off..biden was not bragging he could grab em by the pu$$y

biden married a school teacher and did not have to order a bride through the mail..

biden road a train weekly for 30+ years to be with his family

despite the above I am still not a huge Biden supporter

but what is my alternative to biden??

a whacked out scumbag that will be in prison when the office no longer protects him

    and guess what ??

the GOP will be the party that puts him on prison

the GOP soon will blame trump for every lost seat

and he will be the blame for the end of the party..

    trump will be the excuse

for a cultists this truth is not believed

but bye bye trump and the GOP

    enjoy these last few months

I suggest steak and lobster for your last meal

the DNC will fry the cultists of the GOP and it will not be pretty

instead of going down with integrity and pride the cultists will whine and cry like children

the trumpers that are not whining and crying will be the ones that decided to drink the kool aid rather than face reality

Reasonably sure they both will be....

One will likely be turning the keys over to his female VP.

The other should be under lock and key by that time...

We could depoliticize the Court if the Senate agreed to only confirm nominees selected by from a list of candidates vetted by a joint committee of Congress with equal numbers of Democrats and Republicans.

Nobody will want to go first in this because nobody would trust the other side to stick to it.
