I did not mind Flake and I thought McCain was ok. I do not like Trump having too much power. He hasn’t started any wars yet, so that’s good, but I do not want to give him and McConnell a chance to sell out our health care system Medicare or Social Security like he’s been champing the bit to do. Sinema seems to be pretty reasonable regarding healthcare, Medicare and Social Security. If the GOP gets too much power I believe they will try to Jack the retirement age to 72 and sell out to his buddies in the HMO business.

You are welcome. I never minded having a GOP majority under Clinton or Obama either. Also, I thought Obama and the Democrats sold out when they had the power to get a reasonable healthcare bill by tossing out the so called Public Option and giving in to the insurance lobby. The only good part of Obamacare were the clauses about pre exisiting condotions and McConnell and the rest of the GOP powerbrokers want to toss that out too. If Trump is forced to work across the aisle and work with the Dems we could end up getting the great plan that Trump promised in the campaign. Also, I would like to see the Dems get the house so that there will be a better chance of letting Bob Mueller get to the bottom of this Russian deal. If Trump is exonerated, fine, if he’s dirty we need to find out. Guys like Nunez, Jordan and Gohmert in charge of these committees shilling for Trump instead of doing their jobs it has been a real sham. I would like to see a balance of power restored. Cheers.

Oh man, do you have an opportunity to win a bunch of money on Sinema! A $1 contract payable on her victory is yours for only 48 cents!

The more you buy, the more you win!

... Silver lining if you’re a McSally fan: She might well end up in the Senate anyway after Jon Kyl steps down from his placeholder role and Gov. Doug Ducey has to appoint a longer-term replacement to McCain’s seat. Weirdly, McSally and Sinema might end up as Arizona’s two senators by the time the next Congress is seated despite the former losing to the latter.

Just in case anyone forgot, the USA has no business fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan as it is or was the legitimate government of that country and it was illegally deposed by the USA.

Funny thing how so many forum right wingers believe in 2d Amendments rights because they feel government has no business imposing its will on the populace. But those same right wingers applaud when the government invades a foreign government and imposes its will overseas by way of imperialistic terrorism. Such hypocrisy for shame.

You knew we were in trouble when instead of saying we are fighting Al Qaeda and started saying we are fighting the Taliban.

No. I'm stunned that Sinema won.

    Gov. Race:
Doug Ducey (GOP) got 1,241,028 and 56% of the vote
    Dem took 914,703 and 42%

    Senate:
    Sinema took 1,097,321 and 49.7%
    McSally took 1,059,124 and 48.0%

She lost by 38,197 votes. 143,707 voters voted for the GOP Gov and then didn't vote for Sinema.

Her GOP support has always been a little softer than Sinema's Democrat support and I don't know why.

Sinema won despite McSally's desperation causing her to go hysterical and bray treason!, but kudos to her for not resorting to the Trump slime assault upon representative democracy.

She appears assured of getting the the Senate via appointment anyway.
