Its the same as 'taking a knee'. That the most undisruptive 'protest' I have ever seen. These guys do not scream obscenities, they do not offer up the 'finger' or any graphic gestures, or make wild distracting movements that might disturb anyone who actually wants to listen to the anthem or see their nephew perform, or just enjoy hearing the song. No, these football players bend to one knee quietly and inobtrusively. If you think about what bending a knee normally suggests in western cultures, it's more of gesture of respect and deference than insult. You might bend a knee sometimes when in in the presence of royalty, or when proposing marriage, or in certain religious ceremonies but it is NEVER in western culture insulting or belittling.

These conservatives have to do a hell of a lot of twisting, to turn that act into some unpatriotic or disrespectful act.

It caused me to turn off the NFL for a full season in a half and I think last season I may be watched 4 games because honestly I found out that I didn't miss it much. I found other hobbies and probably will never go back to a regular Sunday football watcher.

It won't really impact my Women's World Cup watching because I don't watch Women's World Cup.

But again I blame the media for actually giving them attention and filming one jerk while ignoring 60,000 people not being jerks. what they should have done is ignored them. Don't give jerks free air time.

 

Why the hell did you ever care who stands and who bends on one knee when the anthem is played? could you not hear the singer, and enjoy that performance just as well either way? They harmed nobody by bending a knee. That you actually thought is was worth even noticing,let alone changing your viewing habits, tells me you had too much time on your hands.

Had to quit listening to espn Radio in the morning on my drive to work as well because every single day it was a Kaepernick update during free agency, a washed up backup, I was fine with it the first day but after about seven straight days of Kaepernick updates I was annoyed, changed the channel.
