Mike Pence Declines Invite to CPAC Event Where Donald Trump Will Speak I know they are trying to repair the party and things are a bit tense. Or, maybe Pence isn't too keen on the idea given the last time Trump supporters gathered and ended up shouting to hang him. I could see how that would leave a sore spot. What do you think?
Just read this... Pence reportedly speaks 'very favorably' of Trump in GOP meeting and intends to launch a new political organization * Mike Pence has reportedly kept a close personal relationship with Donald Trump. * In a meeting with conservatives, Pence expressed no bad feelings towards Trump over the Jan. 6 riot. * Pence will launch an organization that will defend the former administration's record. https://www.businessinsider.com/tru...ization-conservatism-defense-2021-2?r=US&IR=T
OK I will withdraw my opinion. I think Pence is basically a good man despite his being a politician. He did a decent job as Indiana governor.
As much as I cant stand Pence, I cant understand why anyone would expect him to go talk at an event where the keynote speaker tried to have him killed.
Because those people weren't trying to hurt anybody. They were just merely "trespassing" and taking selfies with cops.
Ya. I love that schtik. "Oh, That wasn't a REAL guillotine they built outside." "Oh, those 3 dozen ziptie cuffs he was carrying was just a practical joke!" Its amazing how easily Trumpers can delude themselves into thinking they are the good guys. But most sane people know otherwise.
You know what I have a hard time reconciling? Trump tweeted 'We Love You, You're Very Special' after the riot but reports said those people were Antifa. So, does that mean Trump loves Antifa or they were Trump supporters? It doesn't make any sense in either direction. Did he throw his own supporters under the bus?
I suspect Pence is feeling pretty cheap now, realizing he'd been used like everyone else these last four years.
I have full expectations he is getting HIMSELF set to for a run and that is what he wants to concentrate on and getting out from under the shadows of Trump. He's got LOTS more including CPac events he will be attending in the future. So his choice can fully see the reasons for it.
I suspect he doesn't and he's feeling pretty good he came out of the Trump administration on the high ground and set for run for 2024.
It absolutely does. My comment was sarcastic. I should have added that. And, two officers that were present during the riot committed suicide afterward.
