    Is such considered more egregious than rape in the modern day, committed against an individual with the ability to refuse, but still unable to do anything about it if "no" is rejected by the individual responsible?

    Or is the above nothing more than an admission that some rapes are considered acceptable, depending upon who is committing the rape?

    What makes you think Thomas Jefferson considered Sally Hemmings his "plaything"? You're imparting motive when you have nothing but your own bigotry to back that up.

    From what I've read Jefferson was known for being quite the ladies man in Paris. Why would he care one whit about some kid?

    Where is the evidence that she didn't have the power to say no? Where is the evidence that it was even he and not she who initiated the relationship?

    You have perfectly exemplified the problem with confusing "legal," "non-consenting," and "forcible" rape.

    If you define sex between slave and owner as automatically being rape, then that is certainly true. But as I have tried to explain, there is a difference between legal rape, impaired-consent sex, and forcible rape, and those three scenarios probably don't even exhaust the possible nuances.

    Just so everyone is on the same page in this discussion. Martin Luther King has been accused of violating several established standards of the leftwing liberal democrat divide of politics, including being anti-homosexual, demeaning to female individuals, and having watched and even encouraged a rape to be committed. By all modern standards, he has committed enough misdeeds to justify his name being stricken from all displays, his monuments being torn down, and his infamous speech being erased from history.

    Yet there are those who belong to the leftwing liberal democrat divide of politics who claim his actions are not bad enough to justify the same treatment being given to others, and who have even claimed some rapes are acceptable to commit.

    No. There are a few people who think MLK's statues should be taken down because he wasn't a saint. I guess it's in retaliation for the Confederate statues being taken down.
