How about a Moore vs Mr. Jones prediction threads?

    I will start:
I am saying that Moore takes it by 7+ points .

Why ? It is Moore important to Alabamites to send a non Democrat to the Senate than to make their decision on what is right and moral.

Let's see who is correct and why?

The big money democrat attack machine basically saying Alabama residents are stupid and racist plays into this with the usual elitists that supported sexual predators claiming purity now.

History has shown when the GOP nominates wackos, they tend to lose. Aiken, Mourdock, O'Donnell, Angle all lost senate seats to a Democrat that a less far out GOP candidate would have won easily. Let's not forget Joe Miller in Alaska although he lost to a write in candidate who ran as an independent but was a Republican, Lisa Murkowski.

Now Alabama isn't Indiana, Alaska or Missouri or Nevada. Alabama is a state where any Republican candidate should win by 15-20 point easily. Moore was controversial before these allegations first appeared. Moore only held a 10 point lead before the allegations instead of the normal 15-20. That in itself states Moore was a weak candidate. After the allegations Jones took a 5 point lead, but over the last two weeks Moore has pulled back out front by a point or two depending on the poll. But there are around 6-7% of the electorate still undecided. Whom that 6-7% votes for will determine the winner.

In a race this close it is a coin toss. Taking the margin of error the polls provide plus the undecided, either candidate could win by 7 or lose by 7. I'm tempted to say Alabama is too deep red for a Democrat to win. Tempted. History shows different in other states, but they weren't that deep red. I'll go with Jones by 2 points staying with the historical trend when the Republicans nominate someone really far out there. A wacko.

I'm not comfortable with that prediction as Alabama, well, Alabama is Alabama. Too deep red and history may not apply. I guess we'll find out in the morning. This is another election, race where one can through out conventional wisdom, history, out the window. I'm not willing to do that yet.

I predict Moore will win. A rock with a pro-life sticker on it would win.

I think it is most important for the people of Alabama to choose who they want to represent them, not anyone outside of AL.

You mentioned Aiken above. I personally was involved in that as a registered republican voter. Since you have a great deal of trust in the polls, Aiken was a VERY DISTANT third place throughout the campaign season that year, by at least 10 POINTS. The state didn't have any requirements about registered voters being truthful, so I contend that democrats "crossed over" to nominate Aiken. He was truly the least popular in the polls. But the nominating polls suddenly flipped to where Aiken took the lead and nomination by as many points as he was previously losing to two other candidates.

Incumbent Sen. Claire McCaskill (D) publicly admitted she paid for ads to get Aiken nominated BECAUSE he was the only one she had a chance of beating in the general election. But I think there is more to it, dems crossing over to nominate him. McCaskill won a 2nd term, but I think she will lose in 2018 because of her and party past shenanigans.

I predict Moore will win because of all the in-breeding in the south.

    You're absolutely right.

Alabama will elect a Child Molester to represent them in the US Senate

Nope...it's the tribalism. They've been taught to hate Democrats and liberals so much that they would accept a Child Molester over one. 30 years of Rush and Fox screaming at them has taken it's intended toll

But America has become a paradox- a nation where law guarantees you will be treated as innocent until proven guilty, and society declares you guilty when it pleases them and demands you prove yourself innocent.

Somehow- that doesn't exactly seem to be right and moral either- just self-righteous.
    Aren't we proud of ourselves?

I’d say Moore is going to win by 9 points. And he will win because most Alabamans know this is nothing more than a political witch hunt and the allegations against him are false.

I'm sayin there can be no winner! All they can end up with is an accused, or a democrat closet freak only to be found out later down the road.. I own property there, maybe I'm the best choice Alabama has?

Truly. But think on the bright side. If the senate don't allow him his seat, the republican gov can appoint a replacement. Joy.

Amazing times in politics today... The corruption is so rife I doubt anyone is moral or honest anymore, and that includes the electorate.

Moore will win, sending a message that the people of Alabama would rather have an "accused sexual predator" represent them than a democrat. Very similar to how nearly every county in the US chose a "reality TV star" over a democrat, in 2016. I hope this is an early indication that the "identity politics" game is coming to an end, because that is the only game that progressives have.

What the hell is an "accused sexual predator"? A made up term.

If I say you raped me with no proof you are now an "accused sexual predator". Totally meaningless.

    Clown world.
