Bullcrap. That is your spin. The article says men are not interested in getting married because it has nothing for them....that is all. Why should a man get married?

That is true but marriage is not a requirement to have kids. There are many "baby daddies" out there.

 

Not really. But I would say the feminist movement has gotten away from practicality.....if that is a type of insanity then so be it.

I wonder if the guys are noticing that anyone who doesn't tow the feminist's line gets put down? If a person criticizes feminists they are automatically accused of wanting women to be "barefoot and pregnant". In other words no one is allowed to have a differing opinion. Seems it will always be that way. No need to sit around complaining and waiting for things to change. I didn't. The best thing I ever did was to get away from the US and it's man hating culture to find a woman to have a relationship with.

 

OK, so is this good, bad, or benign? Simply placing the blame on feminist I think is short sighted as the family unit has been in decline for many reasons. I am 50 and can sadly report that myself, by brother, and all my cousins come from broken homes... in a large Christian conservative family. The youth of today are no different and I am betting many look to the failed relationships in their own family as a possible factor in their own desire to put a relationship off. Also in our society the idea that money = success has been drilled into their heads which may be another factor in putting off marriage... which is sad as the material is a horrible measure of success IMO.... being a good spouse and parent is a much better measure.

 

I disagree, men have always been more reluctant to get married, blaming the feminists who just want equality for this is wrong, although it is true that *some* feminists want more than equality, they don't speak for ALL feminists. As to the ludicrous argument that men are afraid of losing money if the divorce, ever heard of a pre-nup?

 

it's not marriage, really, that gives women all that power over men in court. it's having KIDS that puts your neck in a noose. Why bother with the issue? Get a vasectomy and don't let her know about it, either. If you really, really want kids, you can adopt all that you want.

 

I agree. Many factors have caused the family to deteriorate. Feminism sure hasn't helped.

I've found that the women I know universally like men. Some of 'em like men too much. 'Course, I don't hang out at the city offices much.

 

I know quite a few younger couples that chose not to get married. Many are in long term relationships, living together and even have children. In the past, a woman would never go for this but that was then and this is now.

BTW if you live in Alabama, Colorado, DC, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Montana, or about 8 other U.S. States, cohabitation of a male and female can be considered common law marriage. States like California don't have common law marriage but DO recognize common law marriages from OTHER states.

(Interesting that these laws clearly state a man and woman only can create a common law marriage)

In any case, if you 'qualify' as a common law marriage you must get a divorce in order to legally separate so, better double-check if you are in a long-term 'unmarried' relationship, you just MAY be married but don't know it.

It doesn't make sense for a man to get married. Why buy the cow when the milk is being given away for free? Once married a woman becomes all powerful. It doesn't make sense to give anyone that much power.

 

If that is the game you need to play then have fun. Myself, I would rather be honest and not pretend to buy into the feminists garbage just to get some action. Believe it or not many women appreciate a guy with cojones big enough to say what he thinks.
