The uncut videos leave out a critical portion of the speech, as Romney was beginning to explain his now infamous 47 percent remarks, and pick up in an altogether different location. Mother Jones released the two full videos of Romney with great fanfare. The site states: Romney is not the only one who has called for the release of the full 49-minute video. And were more than happy to oblige. The complete video demonstrates that Romney was not snippetized and that he was captured raw and uncut. Here it is, in two parts However, one simply has to watch the videos back to back to see that there is clearly no natural link between them. Below is our video, showing the final ten seconds of the first film and the first ten seconds of the last. These videos were captured directly as they are on the Mother Jones website. Romney himself claimed this video was edited and called for the person who has the video would put out the full material. Mother Jones writes that the cries of selectively editing were not true and that Romneys comments were shown in full. It should be noted that the clear discrepancy doesnt necessarily mean Mother Jones intentionally left parts of the videos out. Perhaps the person recording the video stopped recording at one point and picked back up when Romney was talking about China without the full context, we cant be certain. However, it seems reasonable to ask, why did the video cut out at such a crucial part? Where is the missing video? And why is this being advertised as the uncut footage? As wages for the 1% have skyrocketed due to off shoring of jobs, the destruction of unionized labor and massive tax cuts for the rich, wages for the middle and lower classes have been stagnant at best. This correlates to the increased use of welfare, because more people need the assistance just to survive at the walmart level pay they are getting. Want to correct this and get people off of welfare? Stop outsourcing manufacturing. Stop giving obscene tax cuts to those who do NOT need them. Stop trying to demolish the ability of workers to stand up for themselves and organize. It is uncut as it exist. The person who created the video turned it off and on during the speech which was a closed event, no one else bothered to record it. Moreover the person who took the footage is or was a Romney supporter, they took the video because they were excited to be in the same room with a presidential candidate, not out of an intent to trap or misconstrue the intent of the speech. I think most of the conservatives on this forum would be proud of the speech as shown, he reflects their values admirably.
First off .. the numbers are off. Total Military spending (as of 2009) was 1 Trillion. Welfare was 360 Billion but this includes unemployment and other manditory items. Unemployment pays for itself so this does not really count. A large percentage of the budget is in administration of these programs. I happen to agree with you on that standpoint, however, he's less in bed with big business than Romney is. Romney is a key proponent of destroying anything made in America. His "experience" from Bain is enough to convince me he is the lesser of two evils this election cycle. I could live with many people other than Obama or Romney as president, but they never seem to make it past the nomination cycle.
The same can be said of many on the Right as well, but when I look at what some of the fact check sites state, and then research them myself, I find much more dishonesty on the Romney side.
