MSNBC basically followed the same business model as Air America....they just made it a visual affair....

which... judging by their decision to put that homely young boy Maddow in front of the camera.... probably wasn't such a grand idea either.

I was flipping thru the channels the other day and heard some collosal ditz complaining in a nasty tone about the "Scandal obsessed Republicans" and had to laugh as the airhead was clearly licking Obummers boots

Because selling fear and selling to the lowest denominator is much more profitable than actually reporting the news.

Glad to see you fall perfectly into that fear mongering denominator I mentioned earlier.

There is no need for fear-mongering. We've all seen what this POS is capable of.

I don't believe guns are evil, I simply believe guns shouldn't be as simple to purchase as a gallon of milk like the NRA and Gun Nuts would want.

So if you could, you'd buy up all the milk for yourself so nobody could get any right?

Popularity is your barometer? Guess you believe Teen Mom and Jersey Shore are quality programs too.

One has to wonder. We are told the Democrats dominate because they are all led by the nose through MSNBC. Then a conservative starts a thread proving no one watches it :omg:

    It's not surprising.

Fox News carefully planned the Benghazi campaign, from the pre publicity all the way through till the non story finally ran out of gas.

It started with a planted lie by a poltical activist claiming to be the "whistleblower's attorney" (stage manager was more like it). She made the completely ficticious allegations that whistleblowers were being harassed and that she had been denied access to classified documents. Of course, there was no evidence of harassment (quite the opposite), and she never even asked for the alleged documents.

But it didn't matter to the audience. Victoria Toensing's fake claims were megaphones all across wingnut world, and the audience was primed and servied up for Daryll Issa's hearings.

And Fox rode them all the way to the bank. Full coverage of hearings that turned up no new fact, produced no new evidence, and changed nothing.

    And then the quick save!

When the media began figuring out that Fox and friend has taken them for a ride, the next manufactured story premiered, the altered e-mails.,

Still, Fox Noise and the right wing media screamed all the way to the bank for another week before that lie was exposed.

    It was quite a campaign.

And there wasn't a bit of substance to any of it!

Wow, I didn't know they ran shows for 83,000 people. That's like one football stadium.

The thing is, MSNBC is so biased and ridiculous, even liberals have grown disgusted and don't want to watch it anymore.

Liberals turn instead to FOX, Rush Limbaugh, Drudge and Lucianne, because they're curious and want to know what's going on that the mainstream media censors.

Fox trumpets its high basic cable ratings while also trying to say its not part of the main stream media. Can't don both guys.

The reason FOX does so well is that it is the only news source where you can find out the truth. If it weren't for FOX, we would be living in a Communist-style total censorship favorable to those in power. Reporters of previous generations must be crying in heaven watching what's become of the formerly free press. Everything changed when they started the journalism schools and started calling themselves journalists. The old time reporters probably didn't even finish high school, and they got their education in the school of hard knocks.

MSNBC was a great success for GE. It served its purpose. They used it to pay Obama millions in free advertising and in return they got kickbacks.

Comcast is however stuck between a rock and a hard place. If they try and change formats they could well drop ratings even further and lose the network entirely.
