    I can only agree with you.

    But you can't blame Trump for wanting to make money off of people's stupidity.

    He raised $112 million this fall.

    Political fraud has become far more profitable than his businesses.

    You have certainly asserted it, absent any evidence of it. I would point out that a "settlement" isn't a conviction, is it? Words actually mean stuff. You don't get to just make up what that stuff is. Fraud wasn't a criminal conviction was it? Perhaps you can give the citation then..... Oh wait, you can't because there isn't one. You're swatting at windmills today.

    No, that's his biggest gift and I don't blame him for that...

    As he's now figured out ways to do that (mostly) legally via political donations, he's in his personal Nirvana....

    Because you think Trump paid $25 million in restitution out of pure generosity?

    You won't have the courage to find out how the Trump University fraud ended, and why Trump paid off the students just before the election to avoid a scandal.

    Misinformation and rhetoric. If I posted what I really thought, I'd be flagged.

    Yes sworn testimony of people unloading boxes of ballots and bringing boxes of ballots into the counting areas that weren’t accounted for.

    And yes it’s wonderful your boards of elections told us those were nothing to worry about and they had figured it all out. Just like Trump would tell you with his finances.

    But we don’t believe them. We want an investigation with a signature verification audit. Just like you want an investigation into trumps financial dealings.

    The difference is our elections actually MATTER. Whether trump got a loan because he said his building was worth more than it was 15 years ago does not.

    If it's "shyte", Liam, it's not me making it up.... I'm just pulling snips from a legal submission... which, other than in Rudy Giuliani world, are generally not made up....

    Shilling criminals is left to Trump cultists. Here's a hard fact: The money trail was not followed in an investigation of a POTUS and a foreign adversary working to get him elected. Here's another hard fact: Eric Trump took the 5th more than 500+ times in this OP investigation in front of a Grand Jury.

    Which is not as good an action in a civil case, such as this...

    SNIP
    In civil cases, “the Fifth Amendment does not forbid adverse inferences against parties to civil actions when they refuse to testify in response to probative evidence offered against them.” (Baxter v. Palmigiano (1976) 425 U.S. 308, 318.)
    ENDSNIP

    But my main point of this thread (so far) is that Donald and the twin Donuts shouldn't get to avoid subpoena's... Show up, take the 5th, and we go to the next step...

    It's so easy, even an Eric can do it....

    Looks like another "witch hunt" has confirmed the existence of witches. This one also nicely confirms something Michael Cohen testified about before Congress, namely that Trump inflated and deflated his asset values to get loans and tax breaks, respectively.

    An excerpt from CNN:

    Specifically, the New York attorney general's office said it is zeroing in on several specific alleged misstatements including:
    • The size of Trump's Trump Tower penthouse;
    • Miscategorized assets outside Trump's or the Trump Organization's control as "cash," thereby overstating his liquidity;
    • Misstated the process by which Trump or his associates reached valuations, including deviations from generally accepted accounting principles in ways that the statements did not disclose;
    • Failed to use fundamental techniques of valuation, like discounting future revenues and expenses to their present value, or choosing as "comparables" only similar properties in order to impute valuations from public sales data;
    • Misstated the purported involvement of "outside professionals" in reaching the valuations; and
    • Failed to advise that certain valuation amounts were inflated by an undisclosed amount for brand value.

    This particular one is a civil investigation, so there won't be any criminal indictments coming from this office . . . though they may refer some to other offices. Trump has publicly bragged about playing fast and loose when it comes to numbers, which is legal when you are just doing it for journalists, but if you are doing the same (as he appears to have done) for tax officials, lenders, investors, etc., then that's a different story.

    I don't really see a way out where the Trump Organization doesn't have to dissolve (like his fraudulent "charity" and "university"), and I predict some people with the last name Trump will be criminally convicted in the end, but I'm not sure how much they will be able to pin on Trump himself unless they get more cooperating witnesses.

    This investigation was opened SPECIFICALLY in response to Cohen's claims...

    SNIP
    As alleged in the Verified Petition filed in this action (Docket No. 181), OAG opened this investigation in March 2019 following sworn congressional testimony from Michael Cohen, the former Executive Vice President and Special Counsel at the Trump Organization, that Mr. Trump had a practice of falsely inflating and deflating the value of his assets when it served his purposes.

    I wonder what Ivanka would say if/when confronted with that choice??? More prison or your dad?

    Sounds utterly Shakespearean....

    What's funny is that Cohen (not that I normally trust him as far as I can throw him) is just basically repeating what Trump had to say about his own practices in The Art of the Deal.
