You would be shocked to learn how many Mexican flags fly here in CA vs confederate flags. I have a confederate battle flag but nobody here flies any of them that I am aware of. But we sure have tens of thousands of those Mexican flags. But Democrats approve those.

The anthem should only be played at national events. This entire thing is such a joke and no one would be talking about if if Mr. Obama hadn't paid the NFL to do this.

As of yet I have yet to see a single right winger thank Mr Obama for this.

Some god somewhere gave someone the right to capture and sell those human beings, but let's not talk about that.

I think I saw that one.

I also saw a post where some historically incorrect lefty said that blacks were never allowed to serve in the U.S. military until desegregation of the military.

What are they teaching in our schools today ?

There were black confederate soldiers during the "War between the States."

There were the Buffalo Soldiers who chased down Native American and killed them.

During WW ll the famous U.S. Army Red Ball Express in the European theater of war was mostly made up of black American soldiers.

Most of our national heroes of early days owned slaves. So why are you not attacking George Washington, Madison nor Jefferson for openers?

The only person complaining about it is you. But maybe we do it because it's customary and respectful. Why do you stand when a judge enter the room? Why is there a two minute warning? My do military men salute? You know, we can honor American customs every now and then instead of just the Muslim and Mexican ones.

True, but it defended itself from the illegal invasion of Abe Lincoln.

Why do so many disavow the right of free citizens to vote to have a government they like?

Why impose on the South a government only the north liked at the time?

Want my gist and kind of summary.

Citizens living then in the South heard all the arguments to stay or depart the union. They for the most part owned no slaves. The fact some tried to make it all about slavery is of no importance in the argument. If would be a false argument since most were not wealthy. Most were living in pretty sad conditions at the time.

But still, despite not owning slaves, they decided by voting to abandon the government of Abe Lincoln. Founders had explained to them all it was correct to vote and then leave.

By the way, slavery was legal as heck then. Even if the South left over slavery, the issue is moot due to slavery being quite legal the law of the land. Decided on by the US Supreme court.

What a dumb statement. What you're saying is the best American custom is to impose misery on other people.

There can be blood due to what blacks are doing. Why are they not protesting at the thousands of whites being killed by blacks?

How about when people bring disobedient block traffic? I'm sure you love a good traffic jam.

Where do you think the majority of the troops who serve in the U.S. military come from ?

    From the Southern states.

For the past three years, Rep. Betty McCollum, D-Minn., has been spearheading efforts to end military sponsorship of sporting events as the federal government faces record budget deficits. The various branches have sponsored sports such as bass fishing, motorcycle racing, pro wrestling, football, and car racing to boost their exposure and branding. In 2012, it was estimated that the military spent a combined $80 million dollars on sporting events sponsorships, which military leaders qualified as a valuable recruiting tool.

The United States has a Military "Presence" in NASCAR, via increasing sponsorship commitments.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (May 22, 2002) - The Marines have landed.

So have the Army, Navy, Air Force and Civil Air Patrol.

The sudden influx of U.S. armed services sponsoring NASCAR teams is relatively new and a welcomed trend. The armed services have been involved with NASCAR teams in the past, such as the 1998 Coca-Cola 600 when all five branches, including the Coast Guard, adorned the hoods of NASCAR Winston Cup Series cars. But now the phenomenon has reached all levels of NASCAR's three national series.

In fact, all four of the nation's most recognized armed services plus the Civil Air Patrol - an auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force - can be seen racing at tracks across the country.

In the NASCAR Busch Series, four different teams are enjoying the partnership. The U.S. Marine Corps dons the hood of Bobby Hamilton Jr.'s No. 25 Ford as a full-time sponsor in the series. The Civil Air Patrol is the primary sponsor of Ashton Lewis Jr.'s No. 46 Chevrolet and Stuart Kirby's No. 34 Chevrolet running a partial schedule with a sponsorship from the U.S. Air Force. Also running a limited schedule in partnership with the U.S. Army is Brian Vickers driving the No. 40 Dodge.

In the other national series', the Air Force also is an associate sponsor on Elliott Sadler's No. 21 Motorcraft Ford in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series. The U.S. Navy has joined Roush Racing's No. 50 Ford driven by Jon Wood in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

The cars sponsored by the armed services will be in full force over the Memorial Day weekend at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C., beginning with Saturday's Carquest Auto Parts 300 NASCAR Busch Series race (1p.m. ET; FOX) and Sunday's Coca-Cola Racing Family 600 NASCAR Winston Cup Series race (5:30 p.m. ET; FOX).

"What the U.S. Air Force has meant to the No. 21 team this year is unbelievable," said Sadler."It has given us more pride than anything just to be able to carry those wings on the hood of this race car."

Like a traditional sponsor, the armed services are looking for exposure. But that's where the similarities end as the U.S. looks to bolster its troops.

"Recruitment and exposure are our primary goals," said Mary Nell Crowe, director of marketing for the Civil Air Patrol."We looked at NASCAR very hard because of the number of people it reaches and because it's the fastest growing sport in America."

Despite being just four months into the partnership with Lewis Motorsports, the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) already is seeing an increase in membership.

NASCAR goes along with white trash well, along with Budweiser and Harley Davidson. We shouldn't necessarily be praising NASCAR. Again, this outrage is absolutely hilarious.
