It's indisputable. Trump delivered a message that while difficult to hear, is critical for European security, freedom and self-respect. For all their moaning and grumbling, billions were raised for NATO and Trump will sit down with Putin holding a far stronger hand.

As Ronaldus Maximus put it so eloquently.
It takes superior force to win in battle.
It takes overwhelming force to win at the negotiating table
    .
    You're Welcome!

    NATO Mission:

Regime Change in a shithole country, Libya.

    Data summary
Nato operations in Libya by country

DATA: Nato operations by country details

Where was Germany and Poland ?
Maybe they didn't want to participate in an unlawful war ?
Or they didn't want to side with Al Qaeda, ISIS and the Muslim Brotherhood ?
Maybe they didn't need Libyan oil and would go with Russian natural gas instead ?

The problem is not the amount of money the Germans spend, or even what they spend it on. It's the mentality of the German people. They have become, effectively, pacifists.

Now ... probably everyone else in Europe is not entirely unhappy with this. Better a BMW parked in front of your house than a King Tiger. But those aren't the only options.

(And indeed, someday, we can look forward to the whole world holding this 'all war is awful' view. Our descendants will look back on the immense wealth spent on building machines to destroy our immense wealth and think, 'They must have been mad'. But 'Someday' is generations away., unless we destroy ourselves before then.)

But we're not there yet, and Europe, soft and fat and dripping with wealth, had better be able to defend itself. Uncle Sam is going to go home some day. I'm not one of those who thinks Putin is slavering to drive his armored divisions to the Channel ... but better a militarily-strong Europe than a weak one.

However, I don't know what do to convince the Germans that we need a strong Germany, with young Germans who are willing to fight like good Germans, this time in defense of European democracy.

No. Now, they need to take the trade surpluses they have been running with us, get in contact with our Defense Contractors and start loading up the shopping cart until they hit their NATA agreed spending points. Germany with their zero subs and troops training with Broomsticks would be no help against The Ruskies.

    The Donald Does Europe

Democrats and anti-Trumpers think it’s perfectly fine for European leaders to put their own national interests first while criticizing the President for promoting and defending ours.
