If you say this loud enough, MSNBC will pick up on it and headline it every other hour for a week.

Russia's Ally Iran controls a good amount of the radicalized Islam's in Europe.

I bet many of the Syrian refugees are friendly to Russia.

Actually, if the other NATO partners contribute their agreed upon portion, the US can reduce is military spending dramatically. Isn't that what the democrats have been railing for years?

The globalist Democrats goal is to bankrupt America not help America. Getting the other countries to pay their fair share only helps the American people which globalist hate.

The Pentagon is already reviewing the impact of withdrawing some of the 35,000 active-duty American troops from Free-loading Germany, the Washington Post reported last month.

A third of active-duty U.S. military troops overseas — more than 60,000 — are stationed in Europe, including 35,000 in Germany, 12,000 in Italy, 8,500 in the United Kingdom and 3,300 in Spain, according to a Pew Research Center analysis of information from the Defense Manpower Data Center, a statistical arm of the Defense Department. Thousands more rotate into other European countries temporarily.

Great idea.. Those countries will benefit from our troops leaving.

Seeing how Germany is enriching Russia but wants us to pay to protect them from Russia, there is a severe disconnect with Germany's prerogatives.

Bullcrap. It will collapse the economies of the communities that serve them.

It will definitely HELP US, however.

Economic, Energy, and Environmental Cooperation: The United States and Norway have a dynamic economic partnership that is creating jobs, driving the development of safe and secure energy sources, and fostering a healthy environment.

    • Trade, Investment and Jobs: Bilateral trade in goods and services exceeded $15 billion in 2010 and Norway’s foreign direct investment in the United States totalled $14.4 billion. Texas and Louisiana alone are home to 130 Norwegian companies, while U.S. exports to Norway support roughly 20,000 U.S. jobs. By 2010, Norway’s Government Pension Fund Global (GPFG) held $28 billion in USG bonds and $97 billion in U.S. equity holdings.
    • Energy: As the world’s second largest exporter of natural gas and seventh largest exporter of oil, Norway plays an important stabilizing role in energy markets and energy security. Norway is the only developed country to have completed implementation of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) and achieved “compliant” status under the EITI process. In September, the United States committed to implement the EITI as part of its OGP National Action Plan. The United States and Norway are also committed to increasing access to modern energy services for the 1.4 billion people on the planet today who do not have any access to energy.
    • Environment, Climate Change and Green Growth: The United States and Norway share a commitment to fostering new models of green growth that include sustainable land management, forest protection, expanding access to renewable energy, and increasing agricultural productivity. This includes $1 billion that the United States and Norway have each pledged to jump start REDD+ activities in the short-term. The two countries are working together to support Indonesia’s strong leadership to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD+), including through strong political support for the Indonesia-Norway REDD+ Letter of Intent. In this context, Norway today announced its commitment to match U.S. funding to support the new Indonesia Climate Change Center.

Fine, if they don't want to meet even their minimum NATO spending commitments, I don't want the blood of our sons and daughters pledged to defend their borders, that they think they can secure with sub 2% of their GDP, in some cases no military at all, in other cases, like Germany, a military that is training with broomsticks, is down to 4 planes, has no submarines and not enough armored personal carriers for training, much less war, they are substituting cars for APC's during training. Clearly we have a fundamental difference in defense policy and it makes sense for us to go our separate ways.
Uhh... the entire postwar period. I'm so tired of these whinny self-indulgent babies, if they want to defend themselves with broomsticks, that's their choice.
Has nothing to do with these Nations, who we have pledged to secure, who won't even make their minimum NATO spending commitments.

Well, I'm not sure they see that way, but if they want us to keep our troops there, they are getting the bill.

Historically the local economy suffers for about a year and then rebounds to do better than ever.

    Yes it is.

Das boot ist kaputt: German navy has zero working subs
    https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2017/12/das-boot-ist-kaputt-german-navy-has-zero-working-subs/
Uhh... They have 4 combat ready planes, in the entire country.

Only 4 of Germany's 128 Eurofighter jets combat ready — report
The report is the latest to cast doubt on Germany's military capabilities and readiness. It raises questions of whether Germany is really meeting its NATO commitments.

    https://www.dw.com/en/only-4-of-germanys-128-eurofighter-jets-combat-ready-report/a-43611873

    They are a free-loading farce.
We have defense commitments that we take seriously for the entire NATO alliance. That is a commitment that has to be reconsidered, considering that they will not even meet their minimum NATO spending commitments.

Listen, we are all clear on what is going on here. NATO makes no sense, but there are Americans who favor this policy because they are personally getting rich off the cashflow, and "progressives" use the purchased "global influence" to implement their destructive "do-gooderism" that is paid for the American TaxPayer pledging our money and the blood, lives and limbs of our sons and daughters to the defense of countries that will not pledge the same, to secure their OWN damn borders.

It's a farce, we have had enough, Gates warned them clearly, 7 years ago, we will no longer operate as the World's piggy bank.

Can you read? From your own source:
    • U-33 is in the Kiel shipyard for maintenance until February of 2018 and will likely not be back in service until May or June.
    • U-34 is due to start a yard period in Kiel in January, and it's not certain when it will return to service.
    • U-36, the latest submarine built for the Deutsche Marine, was completed a year ago, but it is still in acceptance trials and is not expected to be fully active until May of 2018.

Yep as I said: "The problem stems from a cooling liquid leak in the aircraft's wing pod sensors, which are used to recognize hostile jets or incoming attacks. Without the defense system the Eurofighter jets are not combat ready."

Can fly, not combat ready for mission unless russia invades of course then they can be used just not in optimum condition.

There are no minimum requirement and no mechanism to enforce anything.

There is an agreement to try and spend around 2% but that is not legally binding or anything.

Trump can moan and whine all he wants not going to change that.

More ranting, even if the US leaves NATO there isnt going to go 1 dollar from the defense budget.

The US simply doesnt defend europe, this is (as always) an excuse to rally up the sheep that support trump.

Can you say "behehe" like a nice little sheep ?

You want to leave NATO? Go ahead bye bye.

They dont want that, those bases are purely logistic .

If the US wants to spend more ferrying goods and troops around the world by not having a single base in europe: go ahead.

    Perfect, We Will!

Poland is offering to pay for the construction of a US base.
