Stop deflecting, Silver Surfer already pointed that out, it's Muslim terrorists that are murdering people in Europe, the Middle East etc, not anyone else.

    Dwindling numbers and Fear

Despite its proud history and vibrant community, the Jews of Scotland have felt more insecure in recent years. Many younger Jews have left; the community is now estimated at 7,000-8,000, with most Scottish Jews living in Glasgow. Only one Jewish school remains in the entire country.

In August 2014, the Scottish Council of Jewish Communities called on national bodies to recognize growing levels of anti-Semitism in the country. “The level of anxiety is unprecedented” said the leader of the Glasgow Jewish Representative Council.

Little do you know about the history of Jews in Europe.

Words have meaning. The word 'Semite' has NOTHING to do with the Jewish religion. The Jews of the Bible were Semitic by race and Jewish by faith. The native French who are Jewish are Jews by faith, and French/European by race. They are NOT Semitic. What right do you have to just make up definitions to suit your agenda ?

And your analogy of Brits coming to the US is completely illogical. The immigrants who came to the US didn't come here saying they were genetically linked to the Native American people. They came here knowing they were immigrants coming to a new country. But right now a man in India who is of the Indian race, who speaks only the local Indian dialect, but is of the Jewish faith has a "right of return" to Israel. How is this logical or fair ? That Indian Jewish man is NOT Semitic. He is Indian. The same goes for Europeans of the Jewish faith.

You can laugh to dismiss, but you need to logically explain your position and discredit mine.

whether you like it or not, "anti-Semitism" means hatred of Jews.

no amount of semantic silliness can change that. :)

Just because a falsehood is accepted by the masses, doesn't mean it is true or that it becomes truth.

Only means Jewish people across a narrow group...millions of people in the Arab world consider themselves to be semites. You know ... they don't speak Yiddish.. They speak Arabic, Amharic, Aramaic.

Think back a decade or so when Ariel Sharon was in France and appealed to French Jews to bring their money and move to Israel. He sure made them angry.

    Definitions:

Semite: a member of any of the peoples who speak or spoke a Semitic language, including in particular the Jews and Arabs.

Antisemitism: hostility to or prejudice against Jews.

Jew: All Jewish religious movements agree that a person may be a Jew either by birth or through conversion. According to halakha, a Jew by birth must be born to a Jewish mother

Ashkenazi (European) Jews : large number of genetic studies on Ashkenazim — researching both their paternal and maternal lineages — all point to at least some ancient Levantine origins

Think of the irony of a man attending a demonstration of unity against freedom of speech, who oversaw the killing of six reporters only six months ago. Bibi isn't the only leader there today with journalists' blood on his hands and censorship in his armory. I doubt there's one out of the forty who's coscience is clear. (assuming they have one.)

Those definitions are not historically or culturally justified.
The idea that the Jews of Europe today are somehow Semitic is ludcris. They look, talk, and are culturally European. They have NO right to claim Semitic heritage based on a faith. A white European who practices the Hindu faith doesn't magically become Indian. He remains his race. And how can Jews/Arabs be distinct given there are MILLIONS of Arab Jews ? It's because they are Jews by FAITH and Arabs by RACE. Most Arabs today are Muslim. The Semites of the Bible were Jewish by faith and perhaps race (although they were still Middle Eastern looking), but today, over thousands of years of either intermixing with Europeans or Europeans converting, the Jewish population of Europe aren't Middle Eastern Semitic Jews. They are white, European Jews of the Jewish faith.

The same goes for the Jews of China who look, talk, and are culturally Chinese except for their Jewish faith. Yet these Chinese Jews are apparently Semitic ? LOL - no way !

Amazing that Natanyahu, a man who did so much to arouse anti-Semitism in the world with his actions, would complain about it now. Anyway Israel needs to increase its Jewish population. It's only natural that he would tell them to move there.

this is true, Netanyahu's actions in the West Bank, Gaza, and Israel do make anti-Semitism worse.

It isn't deflecting. Our (UK) jews in the main have been aware of this and have kept themselves outside of groups like the EDL - which claimed a great love of Israel etc. Fact is, only a fool would encourage prejudice against another and not understand that it is pandora's box and once you open it up, once you allow it to become the norm, it spreads. I don't know if that is what the problem is in France but prejudice is a way of thinking and once people remove enough of what they call PC it is an open door.

3 terrorists. They reckon we may have as many as 120 possibilities. It is a tiny, tiny minority of Muslims. No reason for Muslim hatred.

The situation is complicated. You have the neo wahhabi jihadists and you have people who are joining them for mainly political reasons.

    and then you have Palestine.

The situation in the ME does need to be sorted out and with that the problem of Muslims terrorists in Europe would I think end....and also possibly ironically I think antisemitism too.

I know but it is not all of them. I think it is to do with Israel and probably since we got our own Parliament. The problem seems to be when they want us to be supporting Israel. I don't think that used to be an issue. Some though do not care and cannot be bothered making a fuss about it and think that they are fine here and going on about Israel would itself be the very thing to create antisemitism. I did say the French Jews would be happy if they could accept that.

This is all true. I did mention that we had a small Jewish community ;) The problem about leaving is a problem all young Scot's have. I spent half my working life not in Scotland. A main argument for Independence was that we could start creating opportunities for people here so that they did not need to leave. The other main reason for the drop in numbers is our high assimilation rate.

To build Jewish schools etc has been the reason for the cash they have been receiving.

OK I have had a look at that. I do not think it is anything more than what I said before - the criticism of Israel. I mean they are talking about the flying of Palestinian flags as one of the signs of antisemitism. That is the sort of thing I read. Fear of arguments at the school and not liking criticism of Israel. A few years ago there was a rift in this small community. This came about because they were encouraged to think all kinds of things were antisemitism like criticism of Israel.

The ones who thought this was daft moved away and formed another social body. They were saying 'nae antisemitism to bother about' while the others were saying there was. They need to get in contact with http://jfjfp.com/ for some hints.

It is Israel which causes the problems and it is hearing nasty things being said about Israel they do not like and that is probably a problem for every European Jew and it is Israel who needs to change and she will not do that if she takes more Jews because then she will be saying she needs even more land!!

Oh I didn't know we were just talking about Jews. In any case I was tired then and realised I had written rubbish after. My motivation came from not having them move to Israel. It is time we looked after our own. It goes with the way we have been in recent years. If some go mad there is no reason for all to join in.

    I have to go now.

There is one problem here, and that is if the Jews were to give that land back to the Palestinians, then shouldn't Muslim lands also be given back to their original inhabitants? For example, the Copts are the original inhabitants in Egypt, yet they are being persecuted in order to get them to leave? The Assyrians, Armenians and Greeks were kicked out of Anatolia when they had lived there for four thousand years, not to mention the hundreds of thousands of Christians that are now being kicked out of the Middle East.

Not that I agree with Netanyahu's lack of inhumanity and criminality, but it doesn't mean those who are complaining the loudest about land being returned to them, should have more rights than others.:oldman:

I'm not asking them to give back Palestine. I'm asking the non-Semitic Jews to leave Israel. The Middle Eastern Semitic Jews are the rightful heirs to that land. BUT, the Middle Eastern Semitic Muslims of that region are just as entitled. It's not their fault their ancestors converted from Judaism to Islam centuries ago.

And the Copts of Egypt are not a race. They are culturally Egyptian/Arabs and have every right to be there. But the Muslims of Egypt are the same race as the Copts of Egypt. Just a different faith.

It's kind of ironic that you've singled out Jews for your selective relocation ideas, you have excuses for everyone else but Jews should move somewhere where they are welcome, Mars I suppose.... Am I correct to presume that you yourself are not a Native american and yet you are not going anywhere and staying in the good ol' US of A, right?

PS The Middle Eastern Semitic muslims are not only entitled to their land as you suggest, they in fact have 22 countries occupying 99.85% of the Middle East. Jews have the remaining 0.15% and co-habitate it with significant arab/christian minorities.

Israel was officially founded as the homeland of the JEWS, not the semites. The semites include the Arabs, try going to Israel if you're a Bedu from Saudi Arabia.

Jews have a right to go there and be a citizen because Israel is a sovereign nation, and grants this right to them as a sovereign nation

There is no "Celtic Faith" and never has been. They were never recognized as a separate thing but were seen as a cadet branch of the ROMAN Catholic religion from around 300 to 1000.

European Jews are being invited. And if Celtic Arabs were invited to Ireland.....is that wrong?

Israel is its own country and makes its own immigration policies like any other country has the right to do. What it does....which is different then other countries, including us--is create policies that make sense and policies that enhance not harm the nation's security.

If French Jews want to close shop in France and add to the Israeli economy....hey its a good thing.

Hundreds if not thousands of muslim terror attacks per each one "Brevik/Timothy McVeigh" style attack and the ratio is getting worse every year, despite the fact that muslims are still a relatively small minority in Europe and the US.

Alexis original point related to her concern about the growing far right. Which you dismissed with a simple no one else is killing. Thats not true. You have to know thats not true. That far right attack was the deadliest since the Madrid bombing in 2005.

Yes Islamist extremists kill many thousands across the world, overwhelmingly other Muslims.

Yes there is a problem with Islamist extremists in Europe, but the proportion of attacks to the population of Muslims is tiny.

Which I correctly called a deflection from the topic of this thread about muslim terrorism in Europe. There is a lot of issues in Europe and elsewhere, you know, serious issues and not serious issues... This thread is about muslim terrorism and specifically the status of the European Jewry in light of the growing threat of muslim terrorism.

Alexa's attempt to deflect to a totally unrelated topic was too obvious and transparent, so are your efforts to change the topic of this discussion

You didn't read my post - I clearly say that the Semitic Jews are the rightful heirs to Israel. They have no need to go anywhere. I am not Native American, but nor do I claim a genetic birthright to the land as the European Jews do of Israel. Heck, even if I adopted the Native American faith, I still wouldn't have right to claim the US as my right. I, like most others, are immigrants and no right to claim the US as our ancestral homeland from thousands of years ago.

    - - - Updated - - -

Who exactly invited European Jews into Israel ? It sure as heck wasn't the Semitic Jews, Muslim, or Christians that have been there since the beginning. Heck, I'll even concede that the European Jews who came to Israel before it's creation in 1948 have a right to stay. But every non-Semitic Jew since has no legit claim to that land under the premise of "right of return" on a genetic and historical sense.
