Concepts of "race" are simply taxonomies based on physical characteristics, not on culture, history, heritage, ethnicity and so on.

Of course not - it's possible to illegally discriminate on the basis of race.

And when one is said to be Asian-American it notes race does it not? When some one is call Black or Black-American it notes races does it not? When one is accused of white supremacy it notes race does it not? So when a character in a series or a book or whatever is noted for their race I never see it as White-American or Caucasian-American, why is that, why can't being White/Caucasian also be celebrated?

African is not a race. A lot of White/Caucasians live in Africa and are indigenous to Africa. You objected when I said White so I switched the official name for that race, you object now when I do for Black-Americans?

Of course it isn't. "Negro" is a race, "African" or "African American" isn't.

I have no idea what you're talking about.

No, "Asian-American" or "Korean American" is not a race.

No, if one is talking about a specific ethnic group which descended from slaves, that's an issue of heritage or ethnicity. (Much as how "black" Americans are not interchangeable with "black" Africans simply on the basis of melanin levels).

"White supremacy" is a type of prejudice based on race, and has nothing to do with "celebrating" someone solely on race.

So far, no one who's mentioned is being noted for "race".

Because only an idiot would so so. Quit whining and use common sense.

Because most people aren't stupid enough to do that. if you don't know the difference between "Irish, German, Italian, French, etc" and "Caucasian" then that's your problem.

How about a muppet who has a baby who wants to be a Mormon missionary saving souls, or a Marine who wants to defend his country, or a Police Officer serving his city. But no, it had to be a boy who wants to be a girl. What a load of poison, on the publics dime no less.

Then why is everything so race based? Asian-American is about race. Korean American is about nationality/ethnicity. And yes everything to do with race and blacks/negros here is about slavery. African-Americans are born in AMERICAN and are simply AMERICAN and celebrate their blackness as in "Black is Beautiful" etc. And yes White Supremacy is about a race, Caucasians in a derogatory manner.

So back to the simple question you are dancing all around. Is there a celebrated character on the show who is White/Caucasian whom when speaking in those celebratory terms their race/ethnicity is part of the descriptive.

why can't being White/Caucasian also be celebrated?

As stupid as Black/Negro being celebrated like in Black History month, is that stupid and should be ended?

Like the difference between Ethiopian, Somali, Congolese, Haitian, etc and "Black/Negroid"?

No, the character is portrayed as a Korean immigrant who enjoys singing and so on. It's about one's familial or ethnic heritage, not about displaying someone as a specimen in a museum because of the melanin levels in their skin.

No, they're celebrated because of their heritage as descends of slaves imported to America. They aren't interchangeable with native Africans, Aborigine, or others who happen to have a lot of melanin in their skin.

Of course it is; white supremacy is prejudice based on skin color. Nothing derogatory about it at all unless you're a Klansman, a Neo-Nazi, or something. (And who'd want to be?)

So back to the simple question you are dancing all around. Is there a celebrated character on the show who is White/Caucasian whom when speaking in those celebratory terms their race/ethnicity is part of the descriptive.

Because no one, other than maybe Stormfront and the like, are that stupid.

    No, not at all.

I think they’re teaching kids about people being born into a body they disagree with.

Nope no slavery qualification required. Harris is celebrated for her race and her family were never slaves they OWNED slaves. LOTS of blacks/negro's came here long after slavery ended.

You're just digging your hole here.

WAIT you have been arguing nothing should be based on the amount of melanin. So you are proving my point, what doesn't apply to other races applies to whites.

As stupid as Black/Negro being celebrated like in Black History month, is that stupid and should be ended?

As I said you make unsupported distinctions. If it is stupid to celebrate whites as to their race then why isn't it for other races?

Skin color has absolutely nothing to do with any thing about race. Give it up.
And what is caucasian? It certainly isn't a color. Do you know what color means? Has nothing at all to do with anything related to race.

Just about every adjective you typed. That you need to ask shows how insensitive you are to people with black skin. Shameful in fact. But that's what you like to post about.

Skin color of black has nothing at all to do with this thread.

Take your racist posts to those daily threads you start.

Can you post about the topic or not?

I see now why CPAC president is all upset over an Asian American character.
    Supporters are the same way.

This is why NPR decided to use an Asian American. To over come those who have your type of beliefs

I have a question for you.

How many of the Sesame Street characters are white?

Because I’m pretty sure the answer to that is zero.

Why is it white children have been able to relate? And why haven’t you all been concerned with putting a white character on there?

    What "type of beliefs"?

I am not a member of CPAC and don't care what the president of them did. I have merely asked the question why is being White/Caucasian celebrated and noted as with other races/colors?

That's all I have been asking and read the attitudes of those on the left who respond. Heck one even saying the we should NOT tell White/Caucasian children about how good their race is a and instead we should teach White/Caucasian children

"Being white or "Caucasian" is nothing to celebrate."

You never answered what, who, or how something is or is not celebrated.
I have seen no celebration. So it's impossible to answer a question if you won't tell what it is your talking about.

Caucasian is not = to white.

Your type of beliefs that color and race are equal. They are not. In fact, there's only 1 race, the human race. We all originated from the same thing.

What does color even have to do with the topic at hand?

which race? There's only 1 race, the human race.
The new muppet character is American. Which is not a race but a person who lives in a certain country. Her, it is also female, is of Asian decent.

And why do you keep bringing up color? White is a color, Black is a color. None are a race.

I kind agree that racializzing muppets makes little sense. Just stick with frogs, pigs, bears, green grouches, blue grovers, etc. There is no reason to push race to push race on a kids show.
