“The media lied about the event for a year,” Noem argued. “They've labeled it as a super-spreader. That was not true. We continuously pushed back. And I'm glad that some of those facts are coming to light. It’s all political. We did testing in that community for weeks afterwards.”

She added, “We reached out to every state that we had visitors from and did our own data collection and tried to hold some accountability out there. But you know that once these liberal media outlets, these Democrats, want to attack policies of a state like us that's free, that they'll just continue to perpetuate that narrative.”

The governor went on to say, “I'm thankful that they're continuing to get more and more of the real facts of what happened at the Sturgis motorcycle rally before people come again this year. We're looking forward to an even bigger crowd right now.”

According to Noem, “It's been pretty consistent over the last year that I've been getting beat up in the national media. But our kids have been in school all year. They're doing well. We have the fastest growing economy in the country, the lowest unemployment rate, active cases are down and we've got incredible hospital capacity should we need it.”

She later said, “So our people have managed through this crisis in a way that I think is really a testimony to what Republican conservative principles and values are, and how they really do take care of people and create an opportunity for people to still be successful.”

The Republican governor of South Dakota is exactly. The mainstream media has been trying to defame Governor Noem and South Dakota since the event. They and democrat politicians are bitter and vindictive because she didn’t lock down her state or impose a mask mandate. I’m glad the motorcycles will be back again this year.

And now the evil regime in DC is trying to punish the state for its successes by denying them the ability to have a fireworks show in that state.

Noem can complain about the media all she wants but they're never going to stop lying about her. That's why they call it politics.

Believe me that if I were a site I would be rated as questionable, in the arrowhead with the dot and they would call me pseudo science because of my religious beliefs and hate as well because of said beliefs. I don’t care what they think.

Yeah! "Incredible capacity"! Of course, be ready for 6 hour rides or $10,000 life helicopter trips!

That is part of the clever way to have tourists come in to spend money, and people who get sick or die, the hospital costs and deaths all occur in other states! (Not just COVID, but the same issue with any serious injury or illness!)

Not possible. CNN already said that large gatherings such as protests and riots across 300 cities didn't do anything.

Mine are "wrong again" or "a midwestern moron" (I like alliteration)

She wouldn't be elected meter maid in a state with people in it...

I was born a few miles from Sturgis in Deadwood. Great place to have a party! Get lost Democrats!

Living in South Dakota I can say with no doubt that she is wrong on pretty much all counts. She lies all the time. She is a Trump puppet and also remember the great slogan she endorsed....."Meth, We're on it!!" Her whole stance on Covid is "personal responsibility". Given our total population, we've had a LOT of death's here from Covid.
    Sturgis WAS a super spreader.

That depends on the definition of 'super spreading'. There were nearly 500,000 participants in the rally, and only 462 persons infected. I'm pretty sure that's less than a 5% infection rate.

You would have to know how many people those 462 people infected to determine if it was a super spreader event.

    The horror. 462 / 500000 = .000924

So mathematically speaking, it wasn't a super spreader. Not in the South Dakota area, nor amongst the other states. The study should be revised on that fact but the CDC won't do such a thing of course. And the whole "underreported" nonsense is a huge cop out.

Sharyl Attkisson covered this topic on Full Measure last month some time.

It is a perfect illustration of how mainstream media is the lapdog of Fauci Fear Factor. Pure propaganda is all that issues from mainstream media.

    Good for Governor Noem!

Damn right. No one's confusing Sturgis with a pretentious gathering of effete "progressive" metros delicately sipping their Chardonnay over trays of French cheese while they blow their hauteur up each other's derrières.

Why is a hard news article reporting on what the governor of a state said about a federal agency on a current issue now in the political opinion section? It was clearly a news and not an opinion article at its original source which has both. But it was a conservative source so I guess their judgement is insufficient.

We need a site that ranks media bias fact checkers. I bet that junk site would be far into the blue section, lol.

That still doesn’t account for the fact that it was in their news articles not in their editorial/opinion section. The format as seen in the conclusion of the article is clearly and obviously a news story not an editorial.

“A spokesperson for the South Dakota Department of Health said in a statement that the state does not endorse the CDC’s report.

"Our participation in the study does not mean complete agreement with the report finding(s), to include case counts," the statement read. "Given the numerous study participants, we cannot speak for their data collection or reporting methodology.”

    Lets look at Newsmax News.

Science and research shows that the rally and associated contagion brought a 250,000 cases of disease and death at a cost 12.2 BILLION dollars for the country, while South Dakota raked in their profits for their owners and politicians (in South Dakota, the politicans and business owners are the same people)

Notice the South Dakota governor has no scuence except for their desired profits, regardless of the costs and illness from their businesses.

    From your article:
“South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem blasted a study that labeled the recent Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in her state a coronavirus "superspreader" event, noting the study had not been peer reviewed and modeling had been far off in predicting hospitalizations in the state.

"This report isn't science; it's fiction," Noem said, according to The Washington Times. "Under the guise of academic research, this report is nothing short of an attack on those who exercised their personal freedom to attend Sturgis."”
