The NYT should outline their methodology for assessing the returns and what numbers they used. As they say, the financial disclosures that Trump made are incomplete. And Tax returns can also be incomplete as they use historic asset values. Seems Trump holds a lot of real estate and those assets are depreciated on the tax returns. So would be interesting to see what the tax bases are for all the assets and the annual depreciation deduction. If the assets are increasing in market value, then these "book" losses might not be that much a concern. As the assets can be sold to pay off the debt and net a profit.
Don't quit your day job I have done it several times for expenditures that do not generate receipts. How To Deduct Expenses Without Keeping Receipts
Lol so you think they made up 15 years of returns?? He could release one year and prove that, If it were true.
Or it’s like one guy is very transparent and one is hiding his dirty laundry. Which begs reporters to find it
You do for items such as hair stylists as an expense. Entertainment and business meetings expenses have a limit on which you can claim which is why you don't need receipts. My day job is a book keeper!
Sure. Make a tawdry joke. There may have been a reason Trump gave someone $70k for a haircut. He's been known to help out random people in need. https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/trump-quiet-acts-kindness/
Need the name of that Accountant. In 2016 and 2017 he donated his Presidential salary to Charity so he more than likely had little income. Glad I voted for someone who knows how to avoid paying taxes and can keep most of the money which he earned. I know, I know, you Democrats all think that is your money like you believe all money should go to the government and doled out to non producers. If you research you will find Trump has made many deals in the White House that has saved the government plenty of money. I guess you guys yearn for the old days when the pork was served up everyday.
*shrugs* At this point I dont think there is a qualified tax consultant on the site let alone this thread
Exactly, perhaps the feverish liberals here who know nothing about business can tell us how Trump broke the law.
