If, and I know that's a big "IF" the Democrat nominee were Joe Biden, and, the Republican nominee were Donald Trump, who would you vote for?

That's all I hope to find out from this poll, knowing in advance that nothing is 'cast-in-concrete' at this time... after all, we're a year away from November 2024.

A couple of other options are offered here, but because those two are the 'front-runners' with no serious contention for either party's top spot, let's seen how we Forum members would vote, knowing only what we know and feel right now!

    * You must vote to see results.
    * You may not change your vote.
    * "Display votes publicly" has been disabled.

I would vote for Nikki Haley before either Trump or Biden.

It all hinges on ballot harvesting and who counts the votes.

You're talking about results of the election, but I'm only asking who you would vote for if your only choices among the major parties were Biden, and Trump.

If it’s Biden vs. Trump, I vote Trump by default, the better of two less than optimal candidates. I vote without enthusiasm.

Yes, I didn't want anyone to feel intimidated in any way by voting in this poll. The whole idea was just to get a sense of what this Forum's posters prefer, Biden or Trump -- if those were the only possible Democrat and Republican nominees. I added the possibilities of a '3rd-party candidate', or, 'not voting at all' so that people would at least have other realistic choices.

IF Trump is on the ballot (or someone who supported Trump) then there really is no decision. I will vote for the Democrat and unless that candidate is a serial killer or child abuser, in which case I would vote 3rd party.

If it's Generic (D) vs Trump, I vote Trump with full enthusiasm, as he's the only non-Uniparty candidate as far as I'm concerned (I'm still not sure what Vivek's angle is, and I don't like RFK's embracing of "climate agenda").

If it's Generic (D) vs not-Trump (R), I either purposely write in Trump's name (the more likely scenario) or I don't show up for voting at all (the less likely scenario). To hell with it.

That was a very smart thing to do because that's how the real world works. There is no gun to one's head to vote for either Biden or Trump... Plenty of people won't vote for either candidate, and will either vote for some other person or not even bother voting at all.

Of course the results will be different if either the 'Biden' or 'Trump' names get changed up. For instance, if Trump is the (R) candidate, then my vote will be going to the (R) candidate... but if Trump is NOT the (R) candidate, then my vote will no longer be going to the (R) candidate.

Then you have others who might vote for Biden over Trump, but decide to vote for Trump over Newsom, or vice versa.

As long as Trump and "Trumpism" is at the core of the Republican Party then my vote will be for the Democrats.

OK, I'll weigh in now and say that if it's Biden versus Trump, I'd gag, choke, hate myself for days afterward, and then vote for Trump -- although I've got NO love for him. Why? Only because I've learned the hard way that 3rd-party candidates have absolutely ZERO chance of winning the presidency, and, because I dislike Biden's handlers and 'back-office' woke slimebags even more than I dislike Trump. What a 'fun' choice.... :lonely:

Then, there's the fact that in all my long life, I've voted in every single election that there was, from the time I was old enough to participate. Sure, 2024 is not going to be my most favorite election-year, but I've had damned little to cheer about since Ronald Reagan left the White House in January of 1989.

I had high hopes for Bush the younger and worked for Romney in 2012. Both disappointed me.

I have never been head over heels Trump, but supported his policies. I have have not voted for a Democrat presidential candidate since Jimmy Carter in 1976. I voted for McGovern in 1972 because of the Vietnam War and because Nixon was a paranoid crook.

Trump is my first choice. And anyone who wants to cut the up federal government and send its pieces back to the states. Then I want an overhaul of the public education system. And I want border laws enforced, and I want all political contribution taxed @5% so dark and illegal money can be more easily traced. In 2022 around 10 Billion was spent. Where did it come from? Looking at our society crumbling, if has to change then change it now.
SO: who has the energy to get it done: Trump. Everyone else is pimping and posing for fame and a presidential library.

I also had very high hopes for "W" Bush, but the way he willy-nilly shoved us into the Iraq War on nothing but groundless, silly fears about Saddam Hussein having "Nigerian yellow-cake" to make nuclear weapons with, and, the way he stood to one side, like a deer in the headlights and let Ben Bernanke and the Federal Reserve completely hijack the economy of the United States beginning in Q3, 2007, soured me on him forever!

Obama was nothing but a hand-puppet and politically-correct 'poster-boy' for the same Ben Bernanke and his Federal Reserve gang. He was always more interested in NBA basketball than he was in the presidency, except when his handlers needed him to read something they wrote for him to recite.

Now, we have "Obama 2.0" in the form of the animatronic mediocrity known as Joe Biden. And, no, I cannot under any circumstances vote for him. The ONLY exception would be if the Republicans were to nominate Chris Christie! Hell, I'd vote for Louis Farrakhan before I'd vote for Chris Christie....

No big mystery here: the illegals biden let in the country (at the taxpayers expense) will vote for him or whoever is on the democrat ticket, then there are those who vote anyone but President Trump, (and I’m pretty sick of listening to them complain about the current high price of goods.) The rest of us will have to deal with some kind of crisis our corrupt politicians use our tax dollars to implement.

    Pretty simple really.

My prediction: biden will be the corpse-in-chief.

You may surely be right, and I often chide other Conservatives when they overestimate Trump's chances. We must never forget that as Democrats continue with great success to put more and more people on various welfare, 'subsidy', and other give-away programs, the more powerful and numerous the "welfare-vote' becomes!

By about a year from now when we have the election, I truly believe that the economy will have deteriorated to such an extent that -- all "patriotism" notwithstanding  -- this same gimme-gimme welfare-vote will carry the day for Democrats. So, from an actuarial standpoint, we'd better hope and pray that Democrats put someone in the vice-president's slot next time besides this mindless, blithering nothingness they have in there now....

I don't think its a big surprise that Republicans would vote for Trump and Democrats for Biden. But, more than ever, I think we should look at the party as a whole and vote accordingly.

Because Trump and his followers attempted to steal the 2020 election. That's reason enough.
