There is some evidence that points to lower birth rates actually being the reason for homosexuality. Some animal scientists have claimed that the number of homosexual relationships among animals raises and lowers with the population. They have the theory that homosexulity is a species-wide defense against overpopulation. They theory is if a population starts growing to high, homosexuals are born into it to help cut the birth rate.

As with many issues in our society it seems to me that an obvious solution is readily available and will not be used because of unfortunate human tendencies. What, you may ask is this powerful and important solution to the woes of our world?

Live Your Own Life As You Desire, Let Others Do The Same.....and mind your own damn business.

I don't like homosexuality; on the other hand, I do rather enjoy freedom. For others as well as myself.

Can you believe the government give tax exemption to NASCAR? NASCAR doesn't contribute anything to society. It should be banned.

Oh, since you're messages is apparently pure communist for which everyone should be is a worker bee to the hive, what do you contribute to society? What's the benefit of you?

For the most part, this has been true. The young are generally better at predicting where we're going and adapting before we get there. The old (us!) are stranding still, more often than not. HOWEVER, there are muted rumblings of what might be called a backlash, in our young liberals. I know quite a few via acquaintance, who are moving distinctly from rainbow flag waving to "there are more important things to worry about, and it's not cool to be focusing so much energy on what a tiny proportion of comfortable western folk want to do with their genitals". It's not so much a move to homophobia, as a move away from being interested and involved, and towards bigger concerns (bigger to them). Said kids are very political, and keep up with current thought, so I'm confident this isn't a minority view, or a passing aberration. I think a lot of straight kids don't quite care as much as they claim they do, and are reaching a place where it's seen as okay to move on. And in the cases known to me, to actually express dissatisfaction with the focus on gay rights. One such group is even petitioning their local high school to either remove the huge number of 'rainbow acceptance' posters plastered everywhere, or add just as many for autism (or other 'disability') acceptance - on the grounds that there are as many autistic people at the school as there are gay and lesbian - without even touching those with mobility issues, or hearing and sight impaired. They have a point.

Interesting. You do understand, I hope, that Down Syndrome people are incredibly precious, and often have the most beautiful 'souls' of all of us. They contribute hugely to any society in which they're allowed to flourish along with their peers. Yet, as Herk keeps pointing out, none of you seem bothered by the fact that 3 out of 4 of them are being aborted.

The ludicrousness of the notion you are attempting to propagate, resembles the very kind of intellectual NOISE that I have learned to relegate to my 'ignore' list.

    Goodbye.

Seems to make perfect sense to me. Take an objective look at something before blindly endorsing it. It's sad that this kind of common sense approach is met with such hostility.

You are not the only person who prefers people born with pre-known birth defects rather than a whole and healthy body as a submission to your ideological dogma. I started a thread on this topic and no one seemed interested.

Once again we are reading Catholic anti-birth control falsely disgusted as opposition to abortion. Why not just admit you claim any reduction by any means of the number of people born is immoral. The moment a girl if capable of having children she should have as many as possible and it is evil, sinful and a crime against humanity if she won't. That is what is being claimed in reality.

If Alan Turing's father had used a condom he not have cracked the Enigma Code and millions more people would have died at the hands of the Nazis. If DiVinci's mother had been on birth control pills we never would have had his creative genius. If Hitler's mother has aborted him, what a tragedy that would have been too, huh?

It is all about Catholic doctrine, now hidden behind abortion, when it is not about abortion at all. More Catholics born means more Catholics giving money to the church. Zealots competing with each other over who is more the zealot again.

I think the Gay Community has plenty to offer to the whole world. Some of the greatest philosophers, artists, and inventors were Gay. It would be a boring world without Gay people.

3% of nothing is the same as the other 97%.

    Maybe you should define "same".
They are human like everyone else... they are not beneath anyone else...they play sports like anyone else.
Just validate your comments... because left "as-is", you're just wrong.

Virtually everyone is born bisexual and with no sexuality restraints. Those are conditioned along life's way. When gay became the new cool thing, the number of young gay people soared. Now bisexuality it the new cool thing, so the number of young bisexuals is soaring - over 25% in the USA and 49% in the UK. Being a tranny is a new cool too, so that will soar.

The more special attention, classes teaching the requirement to accept LGTBs, the more kids will want to be that. After all, a lot of kids feel alone and rejected - and there are no classes teaching how everyone should accept heterosexual OR non-sexually focused or involved teens. So if you want to be accepted, everyone has to respect you and no one can pick on you then you really should be LGTB.

That's the Hollywood view anyway, that homosexuals are a fascinating different species.

No, and contrary to claims no one has proof anyone is born to a sexual orientation.

The evidence is there, though. As social standards change, ie freedom, the more bisexuality goes up. In the UK? 49% among young adults. That means a HIGHER percentage are bisexual than heterosexuals or homosexuals. THE largest percent of UK youths, the plurality over even heterosexuality, are now bisexual - and this is growing FAST. Why? Explain it any other way. UKers aren't a different species from Americans.

Now at 24% of American young adults claiming to be bisexual in the less open, but more opening up, USA.

The other evidence is how quickly people change in gender isolation - such as prison - for both males and females. If people were born to a specific orientation then when "free" to be whatever they wouldn't flock to bisexuality or, in isolation with the same gender, to homosexuality.

How would you explain those statistical facts? Do I dispute SOME people are born absolutely repulsed to the opposite or same gender? No. But the evidence strongly says they are the minority, not the majority. As for 'studies" proving a person was BORN to their orientation? I don't think that is even possible due to their being 100,000,000,000 influences upon anyone from the time they are born to when they can be questioned about their sexuality. Making that particularly complex is that certain personalty, appearance, and other traits of a person may make that person more attractive to the same or opposite sex, plus a gzallion other potential influences. This could lean a person one way or another, and then circumstances, life experiences good and bad, and opportunities or lack thereof for relationships could make the final - or at least current - decision.

Think about it. Piles of people who WERE hetero but discover they are gay, declaring "I was born gay." But there are people who WERE gay and now are heterosexual, and they tend to NOT say "I was born heterosexual," and people just write them off as bisexual. All evidence points to people being born with basically NO sexual orientation OTHER THAN an "orientation" to WANT SEX when they reach puberty. Sex with others. Sex with themselves. Sex with objects. Sex is a controlling, powerful complusion leading to wars, murder, absolutely stupid life decisions, self destruction, violence, suicide, misery... and babies (which isn't a rational decision, but a complusion). It is SEX that is the compulsion. WANTING SEX is the ORIENTATION. Except for procreation, having sex isn't upon any rational reasons whatsoever. The gender-sex orientation is a complex and flexible subset to the overallness of the complusion - and as social animals the same then applies to relationships.

So it is my opinion, but it is one that does have a statistical basis - and a rational basis upon both known sexual psychology (complusion for sex).

More curious is why does that potential so trouble people? IF combined with "you should be and do whatever you want to do" would SEEM the most desirable anyway. That NO ONE is trapped by their birth. TOTAL self freedom in terms of sexual and relationship partners. Be yourself, for whatever reasons or no reasons that is. Sounds good to me.

I can just as easily claim that people are born completely asexual and or heterosexual or homosexual, or demisexual, or anything else. Using the exact same arguments you posted that you think support your position. Because there can be one hundred billion influences on sexuality.

So again I ask, prove that people are born bisexual and are influenced toward heterosexuality, homosexuality, and that they are not born heterosexual, homosexual, asexual, (so forth), and are not influenced toward bisexuality?

What I am stating is that facts tend to show that most people are not born to a specific sexual-gender orientation inherently inalterably and with certainty attracted to or repulsed by the other gender and am using the word "bisexuality" for this in general - rather than playing pick-the-right word competition.

So you were just lying when you said there were facts that suggested people are?
