Oregon Burrito shop closes amid possible cultural appropriation

Just about all of what we call "Mexican" food was invented in SW Texas, Texico as it's still called sometimes. Mexicans eat beans, they're not really big on other veggies, they don't grow tomatoes and they don't eat lots of meat. It's sort of like Chinese food, which is traditionally just rice, no veggies or meats and fish, at least not for the common folk.

I'm calling BS, you can't be "run out" of any restaurant if you sell good tacos and there are Mexicans in the area, as they will support you. These women didn't and are going out of business. They'll probably put up a page where cons can contribute to help out these poor beleaguered victims of anti-white oppression.

How in the **** stupid do you have to be that you can't figure out how to make a taco just by looking at it anyway? It's like not being able to understand the concept of a sandwich. Hell, can you even eat tortillas at all by themselves?

 

Well it didn't take. I think her surgeon should take another shot at it.

 

BS? It's Portlandia. The most liberal city in the country where the most absurd things can happen. One of the articles attacking these women mentioned the underlying racism of Portland. Maybe it's like the black guy that wrote about how people are afraid of him and they are usually women wearing yoga pants and shirts with coexist and "I'm with her".

 

So she can marry a white guy, but white women can't make Mexican food? I'm at a loss...

Sounds to me like they just gave up. No one could force them to close. So why did they?

If THAT is all it took for them to give up, they really weren't cut out to be in business in the first place.

Why stop there is a company making frozen cultural food make food that isn't part of their culture they shouldn't then buy that food so no more frozen burritos and pizza or cultural other food like canned spaghetti.

There is no reason to close shop because of a little negative PR.

They probably weren't making any money and were glad to have an excuse to get out. That would be my first bet. They had a little adventure and discovered that Mexicans aren't into a bunch of easy money - making a living selling burritos is hard work. So it wasn't fun any more.

 

Poor guy. Guess that's the best he could do. A step down.
