I think it should be illegal to carry a concealed weapon. All guns should have to be holstered on the hip. it should be a $10,000.00 for carrying a gun that can not be seen clearly. No undershirt holsters, no guns strapped to your back.....All guns must be holstered in a side holster on your hip
I'm sure that crazy folk who intend to kill a bunch of theater patrons will be happy to abide by this law...
Did that dude who busted into a door that can only be opened from the inside have a concealed weapon on him? Had to ask.
I wonder if the last child that Obama dropped a bomb on was carrying concealed or open? That could have been one of his daughters he might say.
You must be frightened of NH then... No permit required for open or concealed carry. God (*)(*)(*)(*) I love this State!
The Second Amendment means what it says. The government has no right to place ANY restrictions on the ownership and carrying of weapons.
You must've figured out by now that they don't care what anything actually says. Governments around the world are at such a high rating at this point, they are all A++ according to the citizens. I hear that Americans have something like a 91% approval rating for Congress. Government loves you, trust them to show up an hour after you've been shot, i mean stabbed.
Other states are passing Constitutional Carry as well. Wyoming and Arizona among them. The trend is moving toward more firearms freedom, not less, which is a result of us winning that culture battle in the 1990's when the Democrats made the fatal mistake of passing the "assault weapons ban". Americans pushed back against gun control and now we are more free in that regard than at any other time in our history.
The level of stupid that Liberals are going to is amazing. I agree.... let's pass it. But, what that means per the second amendment is that we can all open carry, because we have the RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS.
And what exactly will that accomplish? As someone already pointed out, criminals don't follow the law. That's kind of what makes them criminals.
I agree OP's proposal is dumb, but so is this. Do you really believe constitutional rights are unconditional? Try taking a weapon to the white house. Try screaming "fire" in a crowded hallway. See just how far the First and Second Amendments protect you.
Actually it says that bearing arms is a right. it never says a single thing about how you are allowed to bear them. A law that forced people to ducktape their guns to their head would technically be within the government's authority.
Those of us who carry a gun quite a bit would argue differently. I do open carry from time to time, but I mostly carry concealed because I don't want to intimidate people. Having a gun on one's hip makes them a focus of attention wherever they go and it's not the kind of attention that we like. Sometimes we just want to go into a bank, Walmart, etc with as little fuss as possible, so that gun is hidden and tucked away. It also makes criminals more wary which is why crime in CCW friendly states is always lower. Criminals don't know who's armed and who's not. The only exception is places like, oh say, syndicated movie theatres that put up signs expressly banning the carrying of firearms. If a fellow just wanted to shoot up a place and have scant chance of return fire, I'm thinking he might just make his way into a crowded theatre where he can be sure everyone is helpless.
So then Prior to last night we had a real problem with those Legal gun holders with conceal/carry. You have tio cite enough example to make yer case Pal. That is just a matter of logic. If this Country has a problem with legal gun ownership and reckless conceal/carry than make it. Last night was THE EXCEPTION. What part of Exception can't you comprehend. There are Exceptions in every facet of life. I want you to give me an example where an exception in Life DOESN'T exist. I dont't care what extreme you use.Like nowhere has a Priest ever pulled a gun on his Flock.Or never has any Nun been found guilty of molestation.
No, it certainly would not be within their authority as they have never been given such an authority by the people or the constitution.
Do you think it would work for the entire country though? Restricting the use of firearms by law abiding citizens is a horrible mistake. When someone uses a firearm in homicide, break-ins, drive-by shootings, etc, 90% of the time, they're convicted felons, which means they are not supposed to have a gun in the first place. By putting regulations on guns, especially handguns and concealed carry permits, you take the guns from law abiding citizens, while the felons continue to get them illegally. Have you ever thought of that?
If something is not prohibited by the constitution, it's allowed. That is the secret. It does not have to be spelled out letter by better. As long as it is not prevented by the constitution the government can pass any law.
Likes it's been pointed out to you like 500 times, your pointless ban will accomplish nothing at all. Criminals will still carry concealed weapons, law or no law, and only law abiding citizens will be truly affected by your knee jerk irrational reaction. But, please do continue.
Yes they would. But, with added prison time for illegal concealment of firearms, these same criminals would be in prison for a number of years and off the streets. Also, most criminals are cowards. If every who owned a gun wore them on their hips, it would be a good way to scare off many criminals.
