From what I have been reading Barbara Bush sounds like she was probably elitist and had some racism. It could be that she was very classist and that sort of translates into racism in America in her day. It is often hard to separate racism from classism. I would imagine she would probably have had a problem if the Bush boys or girls had brought home a black spouse or date.

I said sounds like because I have not read it anywhere and only have media and history to go with. She is from a time when racism was proper and she came from rich white people. They lived in and liked rural Texas. Not the accepting liberal cities, the racist rural areas where Sandra Bland was arrested and beaten up for not using her turn signal and ended up being allowed to kill herself in jail. The cop who arrested her was being a racist ass and ****ing with her. They ridiculed and taunted her so much that she hung herself with the trash bags. That is some dedication too because it wasn't like she was death by shooting or something quick. If you have to make your own rope out of a plastic bag to hang yourself you have been truly broken and hurt. That is the Texas Barbara lived in. She is also one of the people who would have been strong in a town like that. Barbara Bush most likely was a nasty woman you would not want to cross. She was most definitely was a racist. She most certainly is not America's nice grandmother.

 

All people are different men and women alike some are good some are not. Not all men who served in office were bad and it's the same with the women in office some are bad. Most Americans won't mind if a woman serves as president but she will have to have a better platform than just I am a woman. She will have to come with a message Americans can get behind. What woman would you like to see run for office and what should her message be?

I have never said that's all a woman needs but for over two hundred years that is all MEN needed to run for office....all they need was to be male...

Now, that women are finally getting closer to the Presidency suddenly for some people the standard changes, women need more than what men had ?
