Security Sources: Arab Photographer Killed in Border Violence Was Hamas Officer

Yasser Murtaja, the Palestinian Authority photographer shot dead during violence along the Gaza border last Friday, was a Hamas operative who was on the organization’s payroll, security sources said on Tuesday.

Murtaja was an officer with the rank of major in Hamas’ security apparatus, the sources told the Hebrew-language Walla! news outlet, adding that he had attempted to smuggle drones into Gaza in order to collect intelligence for Hamas. The sources noted that senior Hamas military officials attended his funeral.

The No of Palestinians killed by Israel since Nov 30 now stands at 30. There is also a belief that Israel was spraying some 'strange and unknown' gasses at the Palestinians last Friday. After the killing of the Palestinian Journalist last weekend, Palestinians are asking for International help, including from Israeli journalists, for their journalists as they believe Israel is deliberately targeting them. It certainly looks like that to me as well. They killed 9 during their 2014 attack never mind the injured.
