Throw the book at the parents. They should never again breathe free air. THey sent a kid to school who was sick; like that's never been done before eh?

But, being Mass. a state known for Democrat corruption and overbearing laws, this is par for the course to go after the parents

I am not advocating these people go to jail. That's ridiculous. I'm throwing out the idea that it's irresponsible to send one's kid to school knowing they are infected. It's irrelevant that younger people are less likely to suffer long-term effects or die. Teens are also more social than adults and seniors so the chance of spreading it (even if asymptomatic) is a concern.

I think there should be some punishment or what for endangering other people's children.

The interesting part, the part never mentioned in the media or in your post, is that none of those children will die. Fair odds that none of them even had symptoms.

True, the parents should have kept the kid home, but parents have sent sick kids to school for many long decades. Adults have gone to work with a cold and flu for many long decades.

Let's try to keep things in perspective and recognize that career bureaucrats and special interests brought this upon us.

Eleuthera, I completely understand your point. I really do. I'm concerned for the children, yet; however, I'm *more* concerned about the people they can subsequently infect. The adult staff and faculty are at risk. All the people involved in after-school care, camps, tutors, etc. are at risk. And, ALL the people those people come in contact with are at risk. So, it's unfair to isolate the statistics that only show us the risk to the kids, themselves.

I'm not running through the streets screaming "Four alarm fire!!!!" at the top of my lungs. I'm just trying to point out that this can be a very serious, if not fatal, infection for certain demographics and that is not minimized because Patient 0 (in that subgroup) is a child/teenager.

Thats not a possible solution for a good majority of the country. Especially with truancy laws, and Parents that are simply incapable of teaching.
And there are things worse then death, so stop using the nonfatality excuse as a reason why getting infected should be ok.

You scared of the discussion or something? Cause that dismissive attitude is possibly the same ones the parents had. "Kids go to school sick all the time, go ahead lil timmy" WTF. Its reasons like this why the FLU death number is so high as well.
This crap shoulda been handled WAY before this Corona pandemic..its gotten to a head and we are in such bad shape now cause of crap like this.

"It happened over there..no way it can reach over here"...Unghaa.

You come across as a very reasonable and courteous man.

I understand your concern for the health of people, for public health as it were. I share that concern. My concern is for the quality of life of those still here.

I recognize that some people have died from the virus, but I also recognize that the lives of many more people have been wrecked and been made miserable not by the virus itself, but by the hugely disproportionate response to the virus. The virus has not harmed those people, fear of the virus and a misinformed and cruel response by the government has harmed them.

My view is also formed by the facts known to me, that while I know many dozens who have been infected during these last 9 months, I still don't know one person who has died or even been admitted to the hospital. An 83 year old friend of mine was infected about 2 months ago and is fine today. Talking to a younger friend just yesterday, a 93 year old in-law of his was recently infected and has recovered nicely.

Point being that as even the official numbers show, the infection is very similar to the flu infection.

Correct. Kids can infect others. Additionally, a very small number of infected people can rapidly lead to a very large number of infected people.

My city is currently under a very restrictive lockdown because a literal handful of people supervising quarantined citizens returned from overseas got infected and then spread the virus. It only took a couple of people doing the wrong thing & 4 months later we have had 800 dead and thousands of additional cases with presumably hundreds of people suffering short & long term health impacts. It doesn't take many people being irresponsible to spread this.

The issue of punishment is not straighforward with infectious diseases because the possibility that people may not be willing to reveal information crucial to tracing the spread of the disease complicates the issue. Contact tracing is vital, and that relies on people being open. The parents are either very stupid or very selfish.

Utopia is not an option for public policy decisions.

You ask a really absurd question and expect to be taken seriously.

With several times the number of dead.

But what's a million dead between friends, eh?

    That's what you're really saying.

Your second sentence describes how they think in the Pentagon. Barack thought that way too, killing as many as he liked with drones.

Neither you nor I have any power at all over how many people die on this earth, and you know that. But you insist on offering appeals to emotion, and convincing yourself your comments are meaningful and witty. Carry on dude!

    You babble.

If we had half a brain, we would have had this under control months ago, the way most other countries did.

There are a number of ways to do that now. One of the country's smartest math guys came up with a plan to test about a million a day. Once the program was set up, it would take at most a month to get a death rate you could count on your fingers and toes, instead of roughly a thousand a day.

You keep talking about numbers, but you don't seem to have the ability to use them.

Must be why we have all seen them spit, and then claim you can kiss Rock Hudson and not get it. Remember the video of the guy being told he had GRIDS and he refused to stop going to the bathhouses?

We can rest assured that "liberals" will oppose the death penalty for deliberate murderous spreaders or arrest all those allied with the animal Biden supporters that drag people from their cars... Don't keep the Ox in a cage when it is wont to gore...

You concentrate on garbage numbers presented by propagandists advancing an agenda, even as you are unable to see the big picture.

You focus on a few trees, even as you are unable to perceive the forest.

    No. that's what you do.

My numbers come from epidemiologists, infectious disease specialists, statisticians, you know, people that have a f***ing clue.

Which is just a way of saying you're trolling.

    Its community acquired.
He acquired it in the community.
It didn't grow on him de novo.
Every kid in that school and every person in that community is getting or has been innoculated from the same source the kid was innoculated,......the community.

Test every person in that community/ school and you will find many more positives and very little sickness. BFD

Your numbers come from career bureaucrats advancing an agenda. Your numbers come from the mainstream media, also advancing an agenda of fear and propaganda.

That makes you a propagandist yourself.

The other children gave it to him and they were exposed to it in the same place everyone else in the community is being exposed to it, the community, which they are all part of.

    We are all getting exposed.
    Accept it

Mostly, not. There's thousands of scientists working on this and most of them are not in the government.

    You don't have a thing that isn't a troll..

Then it should be easy for you to produce a prospective controlled study, with incidence of disease as the primary endpoit, demonstrating the utility of face masks in the community.

Come on "science" guy, shine like star.

A troll? Is that the internet version of slander? :roflol:

All the data is generated in and by government bureaucracies. Every whistleblower that has spoken out during these last 6 months has been quickly defamed and censored by the powers that be. That means the censors have something to hide.

It's possible you are simply unaware of those facts, but it's more likely you're simply kidding yourself.

He made the point, but it was too simple for you to grasp. He made the point quite nicely, and you've demonstrated quite nicely that you are in denial of certain aspects of reality.

Actually, Trump was the first to censor, when he disbanded the pandemic team in Jan. He has done it many times, and would love to do it even more.

But I'll call fantasy an improvement over the blatant trolling that is your usual product.
