LOOK mate .. don't know what your story is ..as in .. everyone has a different story about what God is .. including the person next to you in the pew .. when attending that wedding.. which is the last time I went... and each has different story than the other.

Now ..these stories have similarities .. and from this you have created your story .. and that is lovely .. but it is not my story.. nor the story of the Bible...

No .. Jesus is not "The Father" "Most High" - always refers to "The Father" as someone other than himself .. in the early church they debated the divinity of Christ .. some thought he was a God .. some thought some combination half man/half God NO ONE in the early Church thought Jesus was The Most High. .. the divinity of Jesus evolved over time.

Jesus is depicted as having the authority to Judge at the end of days - it is true .. being descended from the Priesthood of Melchizedek ..Jesus an incarnation of that particular "Son of God" .. The Prince of Peace .. God of Righteousness .. Patron God of Jerusalem .. Zedek. both Priest and King .. King of the "Israelites" ... not King of the Jews .. that is slander.

The God of Jesus ---is the same God of Melchizedek .. Same God as Abraham .. who worshiped this Most High God together .. referred to in Psalm 82 as "The Supreme one" .. but, this God was not YHWH ..

What is your argument .. if nothing but a debate on the definition of Pacifism .. you claim Jesus was a pacifist .. I claim he was a pacifist in general .. but not 100% in allways and actions .. which refutes where you are trying to get to.. some idyllic world where there is never any cause or justification for violence.. This is not what Jesus was about .. and so your definition does not exist in reality .. which I think was partially your point .. just illogical how you conflated Jesus into the whole mess.

It is estimated that there has been about 330,000,000 assorted Gods, each with its own unique name and attributes. Can you specify which God by name you believe in? Remember, the word "God" is just a title and not a name. It is like calling someone "Doctor" or "Garbageman" or "Cop" or "Baby".

Which one of these is your God?

Jesus is just a name made up by a couple of con men when they revised the Bible around 1630 AD. The name didn't exist before that time.

There are more passages in the Bible that say to kill and beat your enemies than there are that say to love him.

Have you forgotten the part where the Jesus character returns and rules with an iron rod? And then he tortures and kills all life forms and destroys the planet? Don't forget, he demands that a certain number of believers must be killed for their faith before he returns. That number hasn't been reached after 2,000 years of murder and mayhem but, who knows, the next victim could be that magic number.

    Remember what the king said?

Bel and the Dragon 1:6 (CEB) = 6 The king said to him, “You believe Bel is a living god, don’t you? Haven’t you seen how much he eats and drinks every day?”

Right .. so YHWH depicted as a xenophobic genocidal flip flopper ..with the most petty and nasty of human characteristis .. a God who one day commands -- Children are not to be killed for the sins of their parents ... the next day commands - go out and kill children for the sins of not only their parents .. but for sins of people who happen to live in the same town ... Children , babies, fetuses .. Kill Them all

Contrasted with "Love neighbor as Self" Turn other Cheek .. Let ye who is without sin cast first rock

No contradiction .. one in the same .. all good in the hood .. Jesus one day is this raging genocidal flip flopper .. doing some of the nastiest of things imaginable - but turned the corner .. and became a nice God.

I mean ... Glad Jesus changed is tune and all .. the "New Covenent" - now about to figuring out what this new covenant entails .. and hope he doesn't change things again .. aye Mate !

Come on now Mitt - just because something doesn't agree with that fundamentalist snake charmer site "got questions" does not make it a lie .from the deciever this comes .. ..but, never mind those "unreliable" and decietful sources and let us hearken to Scripture .for answers to tough questions .. questions you have been avoiding while on that other path .. treading asunder the truth, the way, the light.

For in Scripture we read of Jephthah who .. under the direction of divine inspiration .. sacrifices his first born child to YHWH .. and in other places where YHWH commands the ultimate sacrifice ..

So the question is .. did YHWH command child sacrivice for every first born .. both animal and human .. or just some of the time ?

Looks like we have a bad case of log out of own eye going on here - followed up with you putting words in God's mouth again.

As we Read in Scripture .. not all those who cry "Lord Lord" will make it through the pearly gates" Contradicing your claim that all who believe get through the gates . That "Free Pass" ideology you got from the Idol Martin Luther "Sola Fide" a doctrine second only to his famous treatise "On the Jews and their Lies"

Jesus then goes on to mention those snake charmers types directly .. over at GotQuestions - the wolves in sheeps clothing.

Who are you to claim "unbelievers go to hell" -- usurping the position of the Logos -- for only he is the prince of Righteous .. Judge and Jury .. not you...

Ohh down the dark path is one who claims to speak for God .. one foot into "unforgivable sin" territory .. and where do you think those folks end up ?

You still haven't provided any biblical evidence that because Jesus does something violent, that means we can do it too, and its not because Jesus has an authority we don't have. Where does the New Testament tell regular people that they can not be pacifist in some situations?

Actually the laughable joke of a post comes again from non other but you...lol I have never denied that King Solomon worshipped pagan gods, nor have I denied he engaged in child sacrifices. All I said to you was that King Solomon only built one Temple to correct you because you falsely claimed he built many Temples, I even showed you the quote you made in my previous post to prove you made the mistake by saying he built many Temples for other gods. Then I showed you verses in Scripture to prove he only built one Temple and that was for the one and only true God, there were no other Temples for those detestable pagan gods.

Why would I have to admit something that I have never denied in the first place?...duh!...lol

If there is any admitting that should be done would be for you to admit you made the mistake by saying King Solomon built many Temples. Believe me I won't hold my breath to wait for you to admit your mistake...lol

Sorry giff but I have to correct you here because you are again misinterpreting what you've read in Scripture. There is no where written in Scripture where we read that God had/commanded Jephthah to sacrifice his only daughter in exchange for victory in battle. So once again you're exposing how terrible your reading comprehension is when reading Scripture.

So the first thing for me to do is to bring up that entire passage regarding the Jephthah story which starts in the Book of Judges chapter 11 and ends in chapter 12 verse 7.

    We Read in Scripture:

    Jephthah Becomes Israel’s Judge

11 Now Jephthah of Gilead was a great warrior. He was the son of Gilead, but his mother was a prostitute. 2 Gilead’s wife also had several sons, and when these half brothers grew up, they chased Jephthah off the land. “You will not get any of our father’s inheritance,” they said, “for you are the son of a prostitute.” 3 So Jephthah fled from his brothers and lived in the land of Tob. Soon he had a band of worthless rebels following him.
4 At about this time, the Ammonites began their war against Israel. 5 When the Ammonites attacked, the elders of Gilead sent for Jephthah in the land of Tob. 6 The elders said, “Come and be our commander! Help us fight the Ammonites!”
7 But Jephthah said to them, “Aren’t you the ones who hated me and drove me from my father’s house? Why do you come to me now when you’re in trouble?”
8 “Because we need you,” the elders replied. “If you lead us in battle against the Ammonites, we will make you ruler over all the people of Gilead.”
9 Jephthah said to the elders, “Let me get this straight. If I come with you and if the Lord gives me victory over the Ammonites, will you really make me ruler over all the people?”
10 “The Lord is our witness,” the elders replied. “We promise to do whatever you say.”
11 So Jephthah went with the elders of Gilead, and the people made him their ruler and commander of the army. At Mizpah, in the presence of the Lord, Jephthah repeated what he had said to the elders.
12 Then Jephthah sent messengers to the king of Ammon, asking, “Why have you come out to fight against my land?”
13 The king of Ammon answered Jephthah’s messengers, “When the Israelites came out of Egypt, they stole my land from the Arnon River to the Jabbok River and all the way to the Jordan. Now then, give back the land peaceably.”
14 Jephthah sent this message back to the Ammonite king:
15 “This is what Jephthah says: Israel did not steal any land from Moab or Ammon. 16 When the people of Israel arrived at Kadesh on their journey from Egypt after crossing the Red Sea,[a] 17 they sent messengers to the king of Edom asking for permission to pass through his land. But their request was denied. Then they asked the king of Moab for similar permission, but he wouldn’t let them pass through either. So the people of Israel stayed in Kadesh.
18 “Finally, they went around Edom and Moab through the wilderness. They traveled along Moab’s eastern border and camped on the other side of the Arnon River. But they never once crossed the Arnon River into Moab, for the Arnon was the border of Moab.
19 “Then Israel sent messengers to King Sihon of the Amorites, who ruled from Heshbon, asking for permission to cross through his land to get to their destination. 20 But King Sihon didn’t trust Israel to pass through his land. Instead, he mobilized his army at Jahaz and attacked them. 21 But the Lord, the God of Israel, gave his people victory over King Sihon. So Israel took control of all the land of the Amorites, who lived in that region, 22 from the Arnon River to the Jabbok River, and from the eastern wilderness to the Jordan.
23 “So you see, it was the Lord, the God of Israel, who took away the land from the Amorites and gave it to Israel. Why, then, should we give it back to you? 24 You keep whatever your god Chemosh gives you, and we will keep whatever the Lord our God gives us. 25 Are you any better than Balak son of Zippor, king of Moab? Did he try to make a case against Israel for disputed land? Did he go to war against them?
26 “Israel has been living here for 300 years, inhabiting Heshbon and its surrounding settlements, all the way to Aroer and its settlements, and in all the towns along the Arnon River. Why have you made no effort to recover it before now? 27 Therefore, I have not sinned against you. Rather, you have wronged me by attacking me. Let the Lord, who is judge, decide today which of us is right—Israel or Ammon.”
28 But the king of Ammon paid no attention to Jephthah’s message.

    Jephthah’s Vow

29 At that time the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jephthah, and he went throughout the land of Gilead and Manasseh, including Mizpah in Gilead, and from there he led an army against the Ammonites. 30 And Jephthah made a vow to the Lord. He said, “If you give me victory over the Ammonites, 31 I will give to the Lord whatever comes out of my house to meet me when I return in triumph. I will sacrifice it as a burnt offering.”

32 So Jephthah led his army against the Ammonites, and the Lord gave him victory. 33 He crushed the Ammonites, devastating about twenty towns from Aroer to an area near Minnith and as far away as Abel-keramim. In this way Israel defeated the Ammonites.
34 When Jephthah returned home to Mizpah, his daughter came out to meet him, playing on a tambourine and dancing for joy. She was his one and only child; he had no other sons or daughters. 35 When he saw her, he tore his clothes in anguish. “Oh, my daughter!” he cried out. “You have completely destroyed me! You’ve brought disaster on me! For I have made a vow to the Lord, and I cannot take it back.”
36 And she said, “Father, if you have made a vow to the Lord, you must do to me what you have vowed, for the Lord has given you a great victory over your enemies, the Ammonites. 37 But first let me do this one thing: Let me go up and roam in the hills and weep with my friends for two months, because I will die a virgin.”
38 “You may go,” Jephthah said. And he sent her away for two months. She and her friends went into the hills and wept because she would never have children. 39 When she returned home, her father kept the vow he had made, and she died a virgin.
So it has become a custom in Israel 40 for young Israelite women to go away for four days each year to lament the fate of Jephthah’s daughter.

    Ephraim Fights with Jephthah

12 Then the people of Ephraim mobilized an army and crossed over the Jordan River to Zaphon. They sent this message to Jephthah: “Why didn’t you call for us to help you fight against the Ammonites? We are going to burn down your house with you in it!”
2 Jephthah replied, “I summoned you at the beginning of the dispute, but you refused to come! You failed to help us in our struggle against Ammon. 3 So when I realized you weren’t coming, I risked my life and went to battle without you, and the Lord gave me victory over the Ammonites. So why have you now come to fight me?”
4 The people of Ephraim responded, “You men of Gilead are nothing more than fugitives from Ephraim and Manasseh.” So Jephthah gathered all the men of Gilead and attacked the men of Ephraim and defeated them.
5 Jephthah captured the shallow crossings of the Jordan River, and whenever a fugitive from Ephraim tried to go back across, the men of Gilead would challenge him. “Are you a member of the tribe of Ephraim?” they would ask. If the man said, “No, I’m not,” 6 they would tell him to say “Shibboleth.” If he was from Ephraim, he would say “Sibboleth,” because people from Ephraim cannot pronounce the word correctly. Then they would take him and kill him at the shallow crossings of the Jordan. In all, 42,000 Ephraimites were killed at that time.
7 Jephthah judged Israel for six years. When he died, he was buried in one of the towns of Gilead. Judges 11:1-12:7 NLT

Now after reading the entire passage I did not come across any verse that specifically said that "God had/commanded Jephthah sacrifice his only daughter in exchange for victory in battle."

But what I do see is that Jephthah made a vow as we read in verses 29 through 31.

I will sacrifice it as a burnt offering.” (verses 29-31)

Then we read in verses 34 through 35 that Jephthah didn't expect his daughter to be the first to come out of his home to meet him, he was in anguish but he made a vow to the Lord and he couldn't take it back.

For I have made a vow to the Lord, and I cannot take it back” (verses 34-35).

Sorry giff but the dark path is where your footing strolls...one of error and misinterpretation.

Hey at least you're consistent...but sadly not in a good way!

Oh what a tangled web we weave .. when we practice to decieve .. Did not say "God Commanded" in connection with Jephthah . practicing deciet right from the beginning .. it is you who lacks the ability to interpret what you read in Scripture .. which is why you run to the Snake Charmer site "God Questions" the pit of decievers.

It was God that induces Jephthah to sacrifice his daughter .. called Divine Inspiration .. surely you know what that is aye Mate .. different than "Command" but .. at the behest of YHWH either way.

"The Spirit of the Lord" induces Jephthat to make the sacrificial Vow -- It is YHWH who promted the Child sacrifice of Jephthah

So the question you are desperately avoiding - as is the case with most "tough questions" - . does YHWH want all first born Children sactrificed or just some of the time - on special occasions ?

and why would Jesus do this nasty thing ? - why did he not spare Jephthah's daugher like he did Abe's son ?

Following by example is something you have to use some common sense with. Jesus is in a leadership position and there are things leaders are allowed to do that other's aren't obviously. And that often includes being violent or otherwise harsh things for the common good. So if Jesus is violent without expressly telling us its okay for us to do the same, then its not reasonable to assume his level of authority.

Not everything has to be expressly stated .... think your just being somewhat obtuse - making these random rules but not really justifiying their validity...

The Chief Rule .. Rock on which Jesus based his Teachings - is the Golden Rule .. "Don't do to others what you hate" but if they are doing to you what you hate .. Do unto unto others as they were thinking of doing to you .. eye for eye .. tooth for tooth .. measure for measure.

I disagree with the Black vs White Paradigm perspective.

Sure, not everything has to be expressly stated. But also we don't have the authority to do everything Jesus does. Interestingly enough Jesus never even mentions any case where being violent is ever okay in all his teachings.

No, what Jesus said is do unto other what you want them to do to you.

Jesus was criticizing that. He said you should turn the other cheek.
