Again, maybe they are our enemy in a defensive nature? It is quite possible that they see us as a threat. And as a result, we see them as a result. Talk about a mini cold war between a country who is over aggressive and a country who holds little to no aggressive military capability.

So you can not show them? They are obvious more dressing than real sanctions. Political sanctions that do nothing are not really sanctions.

I cannot say what he will do. I can still criticize his stances and the legislation he has forwarded while in Congress. There is nothing wrong with that.

But ron paul is a huge conservative. The definition of conservative in american politics is to limit the power/scope/size of the federal government.

The drug war, which was ordained and carried out by the federal government by the FBI, ATF, DEA, and a dozen other alphabet agencies has cost US taxpayers probably close to $1 trillion dollars, sent millions of non-violent criminals to prison, and has resulted in thousands of deaths - not from overdoses but gang and cartel related murders.

Social issues DO lead to bigger government.

These are not political sanctions. We have exponentially increased economic sanctions on Iran since the hostage crisis.

Actually, it is a bit more specific than that. It means one that feels government should not intervene in economic affairs but intervene in social affairs. I use the phrase conservative libertarian because Paul has elements of both Conservatism and Libertarianism.

We shouldn't. I'm pretty sure Germany, Italy, Spain, etc. can provide for their own defense.

All sanctions are political until military force is used. This is why the League of Nations and the UN have largely had little effect of "rogue nations" as well as china and others.. They know sanctions are only useable against small inferior nations. Once again, history should show that people of nations who have sanctions come to hate the sanctioners. Maybe Iranians dislike western power because we have had sanctions on them for 30 years, seems reasonable.

Between all the naval attacks, indeed so. Even more so during the Napoleonic era.

Problem is most of these are state issues that the feds should not be involved in

I find it ludicrous that we need to station troops and have bases in Europe. World War Two is over. The Cold War is over.

I'm very happy with Ron Paul's showing in Iowa, only 3% separates the top, or about 3,700 votes. I could yell "Ron Paul Revolution" out my window and more people will hear me.

It is a rural state, very religious, and pretty far to the right amongst Republicans and that is not his base at all. For Ron Paul to have such a strong showing in a place like that, I am very impressed!

Why do you think we are criticizing Santorum's social stances? Those two laws I referenced to allow the FEDERAL government to regulate partial-birth abortions.

Then the feds should stay out of states business. Send abortion back to the states and stop funding Planned parenthood would make the government smaller. How can you complain on Santorum on these issues when you have no idea what he would do?

By the way Romney beat Santorum by 8 votes

No. It is perfectly fine. Well, except for the fact that it nullifies the full faith and credit clause, and defines marriage (a reserved power).

His campaign site states what his stances are and what he would do. I have it opened in an Internet window.

Wrong. I support niether party. I will either be voting on the Americans Elect platform, and maybe on the Libertarian platform. I am also a supporter of Republican Buddy Roemer.
