I don't... ...and I am, because you are focusing on trivial minutiae to evade the point that countries are only worth living in because of how its inhabitants treat each other, which is entirely dependent on their connection with God.
Whoa. Are you suggesting that only people who believe in your gawd are kind and loving? That flies in opposition to my experience.
Me and my hundreds of wife-swapping friends have some awesome, loving relationships, thank you very much. Now answer the question.
Understood. You don't have an answer. Plus you're acting very uncharitable, something I've learned to expect from xtians.
Not at all. Sure I do - just not one that you will understand. No more so than Christ Himself was when He called the pharisees a bunch of snakes.
Phar·i·see- noun /ˈfarəsē/  1- A member of an ancient Jewish sect, distinguished by strict observance of the traditional and written law, and commonly held to have pretensions to superior sanctity 2- A self-righteous person; a hypocrite Would seem to apply more to you than to me. And I also remember that he washed the feet of prostitutes, he seems more like me than you.
I suppose you could arrive at that conclusion if you ignore all of the contrary evidence: secular nations that are perfectly pleasant and devout countries that are hellholes. A connection to god seems to be a poor indicator of whether a nation's citizens treat one another well or not.
you don't get out much, do you? or else you're trapped in a space-time bubble, where it's always 1952 and lilly white. the ignorance and strange bigotry of christians never ceases to entertain (and alarm).
Is anyone else noticing as people are less and less religious the world is becoming a bigger and bigger (*)(*)(*)(*)-hole?
Has anyone noticed that people who claim the world is getting worse because of less religion have absolutely NO knowledge of world history
You want to improve the perception of religion in America? Stop using it to oppress people and stop using it to force a specific vision on others who don't share those beliefs. Basically, stop shoving Christianity down everyone's throat. Stop trying to teach creationism. Keep your religion in the home and the church where it belongs. Do these three things and you will find people more receptive and less hostile to Christianity.
The people I see driving (*)(*)(*)(*)-hole-ness in the world today are the religious. So I can't agree with your comment.
Even if it did, I didn't call you a pharisee... ...but since you bring it up, they refused to enter the Kingdom of Heaven and also dissuaded others from entering. Just like you. Not likely, since the Gospels bear no record of it; but in any case He had no love for prostitutes who enjoyed their work. France was perfectly pleasant up until the Nazis took over; and even then it wasn't all that bad as long as you weren't a Jew or some other "untermensch". Please, the world is full of "devout" people who have no more connection to God than you do. The problem being that you have no understanding of the concept, so any assessment you make along those lines is worthless. Who are you to argue with 10 billion flies?
I completely agree, since there isn't any evidence that anyone actually has a "connection to god." There's no way you can demonstrate that your understanding of the concept is any more valid than mine or that of the devout people who blow things up. Not any more than either of us could show one concept of a unicorn to be more or less valid than another.
There most certainly is, and it's immediately accessible to anyone who has a conscience. Well of course I can't do so to your satisfaction, because you have an egotistical investment in your misconception.
Are you living in a cave? I'm very familiar with History as that is my minor in college. I also never said it was the sole cause, but there is a strong correlation between the two. Oh, let me get out this:
Your dogma is getting in the way of a higher understanding of true spirituality. But you'll catch on, eventually.
No, but I've had enough discussions with fundies who declare the sky is falling because we've kicked gawd out that I've done the research. Virtually every metric you can measure has been improving for decades, and some of them are at all time record lows. Whether you're looking at the high-school dropout rate, teen pregnancies, STD transmissions, murder rate, other violent crime, non-violent crime, divorce rate, rate of abortions, and on and on. By every single one of those metrics (and more) our society is better now than it's been in decades, and for many of them, ever. So try again.
Considering you see everything upside down, I can only take this as confirmation of everything I've said - not that I needed any, of course.
