Liberals have become so extreme and moved the metrics so far left that these tests or any past measure of ones position is now meaningless. Today's standards appear to be pretty simple though, the left's new 'center' is Stalinism, anything to the right of that is reactionary and whoever isn't with the Stalinist left is close to or worse than Hitler...
It was apparent from the beginning that the test questions were written to 'squeeze' either a liberal (reasonable) response, or, a more right-wing (intolerant, cruel, intolerant) response. I felt a little bit like a shuttlecock in a badminton game.... .
How about playing the game regardless of deficiencies for the fun of it. FIRST gut response. No pondering. We shared outs and I'm near a twin to @Jonsa (the horror) Could YOU score worse? Moi
I answered each question honestly and quickly. But even at a glance it was easy to see the 'persuasive' manipulation involved in the construction of the questions, and (perhaps more importantly) the sequencing of the questions. It often created paradigms of "if you believe this, then you also believe THAT... right?" Nothing new about any of this. Maybe I ended up at one square off of dead-center in the 'graph' because I counter-balanced the whole thing by answering each question individually, without mish-mashing the whole thing up in my mind in order to achieve 'consistency'.
precisely what it was meant to do, ergo only a 4 point linkert scale... even a simple 5 point scale would drastically alter results, ergo it wasn't done...
I have taken this test way too many times to bother taking it again. The problem I see with this test is that many of the questions are skewed and do not give enough context to be answered properly. And there is also no alternative of "maybe" to give which leaves one in a position of picking either "disagree" or agree" which is just dumb. Therefore, it would actually be more fun to ask users to tell what they answered on each of the questions and also present a shorter explanation to their reasoning because simply posting the graph is kind of boring.
Lol, I share similar sentiments, however, unless one is irrevocably wedded to the strict orthodoxy of a rigid ideology / world view - there is benefit to be garnered in reassessing oneself, from time to time, going through the questions again & again. That - & it's nice for the rest of us to know where your head be at, lol...
Polar opposite would be if the other poster were on the authoritarian rather than libertarian side. (in the red quadrant) It's known as a forced choice test. It's designed to obtain more data, and is useful in forcing differences.
That's awesome (J), lol... but can't I get another 'play date' from the bottom right portion of the graph... J, that's what this PF is all about apparently, disparate ideology, welcome to the milieu...
