    You're asking me to do your critical thinking for you :D You can choose to believe in weird things, or you can be a sceptic and not be taken in by various deceivers ;)

    I couldn't resist looking up the digging, though.

    "People will drill wells deep in the ground and dig out gold, which will give them light, speed and power, and the Earth will shed tears of sorrow because there will be much more gold and light on its surface than in its interior. The Earth will suffer because of these open wounds. Instead of working in the fields, people will dig everywhere, in right and wrong places, but the real power will be all around them, not being able to tell them, ’Come on, take me; don’t you see that I am here, all around you?’ Only after many a summer, people will remember this real power, and then they will realize how stupid it was to dig all those holes."

    He spoke about mining gold, and then about some "real power" that is apparently not in the ground at all.. Nothing there about oil at least, though I expect he might have mentioned coal had he been so inclined, since they certainly did have coal and coal mines back then.

    I think you are heading in the wrong direction...... Just wait patiently for the holy white smoke to emerge from a special chimney on the Sistine Chapel at the Vatican. It won't take very long to see whether the so-called prediction would be fulfilled. :disbelief:

    In my opinion, if any Pope were to destroy Rome, he should be called Pope Alaric.

    Alaric King of the Visigoths and the Sack of Rome in A.D. 410
    http://ancienthistory.about.com/od/alaricthevisigoth/a/AlaricSackRome.htm

    How can anyone by the name of Peter destroy Rome? He should be saving Rome instead as seen in the following excerpts from the article headlined "Attila the Huns Invasion of Italy 452 AD" at http://www.laughtergenealogy.com/bin/histprof/misc/italy.html

    "Attila's servants, so the story is told, asked him why he had reversed his custom and capitulated so easily to the Bishop of Rome. The brigand chief answered that all the while the Pope was speaking, he, Attila, the generator of terror in others, was himself consumed in fear, for there had appeared in the air above the Pope's head a figure in the dress of a priest, holding in his hand a drawn sword with which he made as if to kill him unless he consented to do as Leo asked. The figure was that of St Peter!"

    The ' devil ' is your own creation. The same goes for the ranks of false priests. The smartest of them might be hoping that their hell will be full up by the time their master calls them.

    The way I have read events, the Pope will not destroy Rome, but that Rome will be destroyed during his Papacy. If true, I suspect a terrorist act. As for what you said about Attila, I believe it was Pope Leo and he was sanctified. These things have happened many times. Saint George was known to appear in the sky and help the Crusaders, which might be the reason he is the patron saint of Britain, and why the Muslims never destroyed a church dedicated to him in the Near and Far East. :confuse:

    Guys always take a Pope name when assuming office. They never use their real names. This Peter guy, if elected, would probably change his name to Celestine or Calixtus or something and not be known as Pope Peter.

    For your information, Rome had already been sacked or destroyed on at least seven occasions during the papacy of various popes. Acts of war like massacre, mass rapes, plunder and arson are no different from terrorist acts.

    The first ill-fated Pope to witness the sack of Rome was Pope Innocent I. During his Papacy, Rome was sacked by Alaric I, King of the Visigoths in 410 A.D.

    Following are excerpts from the article headlined "Sack of Rome (410)" at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sack_of_Rome_(410)

    (Begin excerpts)
    ...On August 24, 410, slaves opened Rome's Salarian Gate and the Visigoths poured in and looted for three days. Many of the city's great buildings were ransacked, including the mausoleums of Augustus and Hadrian, in which many Roman Emperors of the past were buried; the ashes of the urns in both tombs were scattered. This was the first time the city had been sacked in 800 years, and its citizens were devastated. Many Romans were taken captive, including the Emperor's sister, Galla Placidia, who subsequently married Ataulf. Tens of thousands of Romans subsequently fled the economically ruined city into the countryside, with many of them seeking refuge in Africa.

    The historian Procopius recorded the following satire: the feeble-minded Emperor Honorius was informed by a eunuch that "Rome was destroyed" and, thinking the reference was to his favourite hen named "Roma", cried out in great consternation: "How could it be? She just ate out of my hand." Upon being informed of his mistake, the hapless emperor was greatly relieved. (End excerpts)

    He might not know these things, but I am sure he has heard about the Church of Saint George in Lydda/Lod Israel. Other than being the patron saint of soldiers, he is also known to intercede for the mentally ill. Both Muslims and Christians pray for his help and intercession. This is from Wikipedia::pray:

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    The Church of Saint George is the major shrine for the fourth century martyr Saint George and is located in Lod, Israel. The current church, built in 1870, shares space with the El-Khidr Mosque. Wikipedia

    It's all a mystery to us all this saint worship :confused:

    Muslims never attacked churches or synagogues until invaders started to invade our lands and kill us.

    Now the crazy jihadists do that but it is totally against our religion to do that.

    Uhhh! We don't worship saints, we revere them and ask them for their intercession with God. :pray: Big difference! I do know that many Muslims with mental illness' go to his shrine, as well as Christians. I know the churches dedicated to Saint George were not destroyed and/or converted into mosques by the Turks. This is from wikipedia:

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++=

    Saint George is somewhat of an exception among saints and legends, in that he is known and respected by Muslims, as well as venerated by Christians throughout the Middle East, from Egypt to Asia Minor.

    This part of the link is interesting, because I read the Turks would never touch a church with Saint George's picture in the front. I guess the Christians used him to protect their homes as well: :pray:

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    The Feast of Saint George is celebrated by both the Palestinian Christians, whose patron saint is George, and many Muslims, especially in the areas around Bethlehem where he is believed to have lived in his childhood. Christian houses can be identified with a stone-engraved picture of the saint (known as Mar Jirjes) in front of their homes for his protection. In one hotel in Bethlehem, Saint George appears over the lift, as well as many other places throughout the structure.

    I accept prophecies if they come from credible Christian sources, but not the interpretations which can be faulty. I'm sure the Catholic Church will not fall, but its structure might go back to the way it was the first thousand years. :spin:

    No matter how much people learn about science and the universe as time goes by, a majority of them will still worship the Unknown in one form or another. I don't think the Catholic Church will fall. It may evolve gradually over time. At the very worst, like what you have pointed out, "its structure might go back to the way it was the first thousand years", that is, it may return to its orginal form as a house church in all countries. Amen. :worship:

    Following are excerpts from the article headlined "House church" at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_church

    (Begin excerpts)
    The first house church is recorded in Acts 1:13, where the disciples of Jesus met together in the "Upper Room" of a house, traditionally believed to be where the Cenacle is today. For the first three centuries of the church, known as Early Christianity, Christians typically met in homes, if only because intermittent persecution (before the Edict of Milan in 313) did not allow the erection of public church buildings. Clement of Alexandria, an early church father, wrote of worshipping in a house. The Dura-Europos church, a private house in Dura-Europos in Syria, was excavated in the 1930s and was found to be used as a Christian meeting place in AD 232, with one small room serving as a baptistry. At many points in subsequent history, various Christian groups worshipped in homes, often due to persecution by the state church or the civil government. (End excerpts)

    Muslims are not allowed to touch churches

    If they were surely all the ones all over the region would be destroyed a long time ago

    Egypt is full of christian churches and monasteries and convents and I'm sure you must have visited them all on your visit

    after all wouldn't a christian visit St Catherines in Sinai and follow the holy family route and tour across Egypt and tour all the churches in Cairo etc and visit the red sea monasteries or do they ignore all that and just enjoy the snorkelling and sunshine.................

    Nah, this is far more than ' a scandal '. This is an exposure of practices which are endemic in the rotten structure of the Catholic priesthood and probably go back many centuries. Vive l'Internet Catholic priests are ordered to live unnatural lives and the result is- unnatural activities. Make a clean sweep, sack the lot and change the rules . ' No contraception ' indeed ! What were they trying to do, raise the priesthood demographic ? Godammed hypocritical ********s.
