That's why we are a Republic and not a Democracy. Where everyone has a voice, not just the majority.

Republicans don't want to give up a system that permits their popular minority to win presidential elections. A portion of Republican voters want whatever the Republican Party tells them they want, because it's a team effort and they've all made the Democrats out to be villains.

For one thing this nation is built on the concept of federalism, and republicanism, it was never supposed to be a strict democracy where the majority run roughshod over everyone else.

For the less populated states and towns, they see it as losing their voice to very small slivers of over populated areas in the country. The top 30 most populous cities hold one third of the US population.

Don't be silly, the EC existed way before the Republican Party.

The Democrats promote illegal immigration, not because it's good for the nation, because it clearly is not. They promote it, and the abolishment of the EC, because the both give them political power.

The more illegal aliens we pump into the big cities, the more seats in the House of Representatives it gives dems. The more illegal aliens, the more EC votes those sanctuary cities and states will get. It's not rocket science.

I do think it would be interesting if, in the next election, the Democrat won the electoral college, and Trump won the popular vote.

You guys know that if John Kerry had gotten just a few more votes in Ohio, he also would of won the electoral vote and lost the popular vote.

The idea that the electoral college favors republicans is based on a sample size of 2. There isnt any real evidence it favors either party.

Exactly. This whole conversation would be totally reversed. Republicans screaming about democracy and democrats talking about the wisdom of the forefathers.

And you don't find it curious that the dems suddenly hate the EC just because it gets in the way of them winning elections? The EC is performing just as it has always done, as it was intended to do.

But anything that gets in the way of the socialist left, well... it must be torn down and disposed of. You like private health care, what little we have left that is? Well, that gets in the way of the left, so Medicare for all, and do away with private health care.

I keep hoping and praying, when will people wake up?

Sorry, but that is a silly assumption on your part. You won't see the republicans demanding an end to federalism, that what the socialists on the left do.

And yet you couldn't present a center left Democrat. So save the preaching.

I would agree with the popular vote IF the populations were equally WELL informed and could discuss their opinions nationally. Without that, democracy can be hijacked by misinforming voters and by manipulating voters. At that point, only the principles of the republic stand for the people. Better hope those are understood.

Which means a candidate needs to make sure they get those votes.

Since there is no way for the people of the 2700 counties to discuss their preferences for Trump with those of the 443 counties, after the fact of the election, the info is sort of useless.

With all of what I've posted, keep in mind that I am an advocate for a true, lawful and peaceful revolution. If such is possible, it will happen in America, or we are all screwed by con artist tyrants. Here is the legal process. The first thing it does is get the people GOOD information while enabling their discussion, (it existed until 1994 as the usenet).

And a particular suggested action for a California state ballot initiative.

"Fair" left the station when trump got elected. You declared war on the rest of the country. Now live with the consequences.

Still doesn’t change the fact that not all Dems are socialists or comminists. How about McAdams, Stevens and Spanberger to name a few.

I don't think the electoral college really prevents democrats from winning the presidency. I.E. Kerry almost winning because of the electoral college. I think it's a coincidence people have made way too much about.
