While your argument makes sense, magazines like Playboy, Maxim, Penthouse, & the like, are considered "soft porn," but statuary, at least of the classical style, are considered, "art." The same could be said of nude paintings, though some of these were clearly meant, even by well respected artists, like Boucher, to be sexually provocative. One of his paintings, nude on a couch, or something like that, so bewitched one of the Kings of France that he found out who the model had been, then made her his mistress. So, yeah, the lines between these can be blurry.
I would consider masturbation and various other sexual behaviors as pornography. Nude pictures of adults I don't consider pornography. I get that idea because there's artwork in museums that depict nudity and they aren't x-rated. I could possibly cure any less about that if I tried.
