Can't wait for someone to claim that a 4-star general doesn't have our best interests at heart. LOL.

Possibly the fact that he released a book this year and is still conducting book tours?

Keeping your name in the news certainly doesn't hurt sales.

I wouldn't blame Powell for being smart enough to promote himself along with making an important political statement. Even so, I surely respect the man's opinion on most things... AND I wish he were a Democrat. In fact, I think he should take over for Mrs. Clinton... so that she can get ready for 2016. :)

He could have done that by endorsing Romney too...

Perfectly good point. And most of all, I suspect he prefers to trust Mr. Obama with our U.S. Foreign Policy.

Easy for him - he knows he won't be stationed at a foreign embassy. But regardless of how Powell feels about it, I bet Vladimir Putin will prefer Obama's foreign policies.

97% of Black skin supports Obama's black skin......

........I think this would be more of a story if Colon didnt endorse Obama......as there was a 97% probability he was going to.

...and the GOP supports anybody's white skin in lieu of black skin...

I hear Romney is being endorsed by all of the former PNAC white racists too!

I think reasonable people can look at the politics of this (foreign and domestic) and not make 'race' the impediment to decent thinking as you apparently do.

Come on, I expect better of you than this. :(

It's no doubt that the GOP USED RACISM to garner as much of the White vote as they have. It's reprehensible, but that desperate, old and dying breed of Republican is exhibiting its LAST HOORAH on the American political stage.

Powell is simply being honest... about today's, BAT-CRAP-CRAZY, Warmongering, Neo-Conservative, Tea-Bagger Republicans. Black President??!! LOL!! That's nothing compared to electing a guy (Romney) that due to his puppet-like nature, will usher the PLANET toward WW3... as his strings are pulled by those who PURCHASED HIM.

Powell sees this, and ALL OF AMERICA needs to WAKE THE HECK UP!!! and see it as well.

Wouldn't "having his own best interests at heart" be a very "republican" trait though? I don't understand your dissatisfaction there.

One thing is certain: Those old Generals are more credible than Romney or any individual participant in this forum.

Powell's a fraud. He had the perfect moderate Republican fellow vet candidate in '08, but decided skin color is more important.

Skin color IS most important in the GOP....that's why they feel Powell betrayed them as their "token" black spokesperson. Now they hate him as a result.

Powell is supposed to be a republican. Obama is not. Obama is not a democrat running with republican values or principles therefore by Powell endorsing Obama, he is endorsing the democrats.

Call it for what it is. Powell is no longer a republican if he votes democrat. Just means for me either he just lost all of his senses, or our Chicago thug in chief has some good stuff on him.

Sorry man, your opinion of Powell... does NOT trump Powell's opinions of Obama and Romney.
