Powerful eartquakes in Turkey

Mother nature and Erdojan are responsible for this terrible disaster.

 

I know some Chileans - people who know a thing or two about serious earthquakes. They are shocked by this. I pointed out that they have had better building codes and more reliable enforcement for generations. This quake would inevitably have killed thousands, but this many dead is a failure of government regulation.

I can't imaging having everything around me just collapse. It must be unspeakable. I hope all those people get the help they need.

I wonder how this will play into the upcoming election in Turkey.

That might not be an accurate statement. Given that apparently there was no epicenter to the quake, and that 10 western governments called home their ambassadors just in time, it might have been caused by humans.
