Everybody got a substantial tax cut but people who pay $100,000 in taxes got a bigger tax cut than people who pay $5,000 in taxes? No sh*t? LOL

guess what, american families earning $6,000 more and paying $2,000 less in taxes under Trump is a very good thing for these families, don't you think? :D

I most certainly do, I forced you to resort to these boring, old and tired uber-liberal talking points and thus exposed you as an uber-liberal propagandist that you denied to be. Ain't the truth set you free? :D

I guess if you think it should take both parents working to make ends meet it's a good thing. :(

Like I said, cry on LangleyMan's chest that these liberal misogynistic views of women not working and taking care of the kitchen, diapers and the laundry are no longer popular.

for the rest of the open-minded, progressive american population - peace, prosperity, skyrocketing household income, skyrocketing stock market, low inflation, full employment...

We elected Trump and he made it all come true. You are welcome, enjoy.

Real wages flat for two years. Workers don't get a share of expanded real per capita income.
    Propaganda Alert!
Bought with a budget deficit of $1t. Not sustainable.

    Economic reform? No.

Trump said rich people shouldn't get a tax cut, so there was no reason for rich people to get anything.
Tax cuts could have been six times as high for everyone making less than $400,000 if Trump had kept his promise.

It’ll be interesting to see how China responds. They willingly sacrificed
15-36 million lives in the Great Famine in 1960.
    They can be pretty pragmatic.

    Commies kill millions.

    We already know this.

Remember when the North Koreans threw their starved dead into lakes to the catfish could feed...and then they ate the catfish?

Thank you very much, Zorro! Your advice is greatly appreciated... especially since I've got a 'jumbo' CD maturing next month, and it looks like, as it has been for the past 11 years, interest rates will remain in the ditch, and probably even be pushed a quarter-point lower, thanks to our perceived necessity to save the rest of the damned world -- particularly, the EU, and Deutsche Bank.

Do your write a blog anywhere?

Ha! If you knew me, you'd know that I am keenly (KEENLY) aware of price increases -- in everything from OLED TV's to avocados to automobile tires. I buy a pretty fair amount of 'stuff' every month, and always play the game of looking for competitive prices on everything, using coupons, and 'waiting it out' on bigger-ticket things. Through the past twenty years especially, I've saved many thousands of dollars just by being observant.

And the net-net? Increases in gasoline prices, and on some grocery items (particularly avocados from Mexico), and not a hell of a lot else, frankly. And NOTHING like Trump-bashers had predicted....

Good point. Trump has no apparent political heirs, and even if he wins reelection, he's out in Jan of 2025. China lavishes money on the American Left and enough politicians that the Swamp and the Fake News Media push their side of every conflict, so, they may just pay the tariffs and wait him out.

If that's their move, what's the smart move for Trump in response?

I keep using government data from the St. Louis Federal Reserve to demolish your claims about the economy. You come back with nonsense (see above). I can only conclude you don't care if what you claim is correct. You support Trump for other reasons and have concluded apparently that acknowledging the truth of my claims can only hurt Trump in the eyes of someone else. It's as though you're playing to an imagined crowd, or perhaps to birds-of-a-feather on the forum.

This reminds me a lot of the abortion issue. Pro-lifers say abortion is an issue for states then turn around and try to pass federal laws. Say anything or do anything to save "babies?"

Total exports to this country are less than 4% of their GDP. They can live without us.

What they'll do is maintain market share in the short term (ie. cover variable costs) and avoid putting more capital at risk. They'll punish us with retaliatory tariffs. I don't think we have enough leverage to force them to stop stealing intellectual property.

The smart move for us would be to find common cause with other countries to pressure China.

Yeah, you have a keen eye...

China is maintaining market share for the time being, but there's no reason for them long-term not to cover capital costs when total U.S. sales are less than 4% of their GDP.

It’s astounding that you can make the same demonstrably false claims after having them thoroughly disproven by the data.

The tariffs are paid by the companies who are purchasing the imported goods and the check is made out to US Customs. This is an additional expense to business and is either absorbed by the company (giving up profits) or passed onto the consumer in higher prices. In this tariff process nothing is paid by China or Chinese exporter companies...
