Pro-Life Activist Arrested For Praying Silently Outside An Abortion Clinic, Advocates Say

The "No true Scotsman" fallacy shamefully is used mostly by Christians. Someone needs to tell them that whenever you point a finger at someone you have three pointing back at yourself. I have only one standard for judging who is a true Christian. It's where they stand on Romans 10:9.

A British pro-life activist has been arrested after claiming she was told by police she may have been silently praying near an abortion clinic when it >was closed.<
Isabel Vaughan-Spruce was outside a Birmingham clinic when she was charged with four counts of violating a Public Space Protection Order.

The police were tipped off by an anonymous informer who said they saw the pro-lifer outside the clinic on three occasions while it >was closed.<

At the police station, officers showed Ms. Vaughn-Spruce photos of herself outside the clinic and inquired whether she was praying.

She responded by asserting that while she “might” have been praying in some of the pictures, she also could have been thinking about other topics such as her lunch.

Under the initial terms of her release the pro-lifer was told she couldn’t contact a local Catholic priest, a condition that was later dropped.

“I was exercising my freedom of thought and my freedom of religion inside the privacy of my own mind,” she explained.

“Nobody should be criminalised for thinking and for praying in a public space in the UK.”

She says an offer of a leaflet of help is branded as “harassment”, prayer is considered “protest” and a pro-lifer’s mere presence is said to be “intimidation”.


The Clinic was closed the 3 times she was seen by an anonymous informant. The police showed her photos. When questioning her about praying. The clinic was closed all 3 times. How can people who are not going in or out of a clinic that is closed be intimated?

 

She was in the buffer zone around the abortion clinic ;no go there.

And she knew damn well where she was and got the outcome she wanted because if her prayers were actually sincere she would have prayed OUTSIDE of the banned zone.

Then it's off to Fox Entertainment to declare victimhood...lol

Good question. The law enforcing a buffer zone restricting silent prayer is ridiculous even if the clinic was open. Sometimes ridiculous laws like this need to be ignored in order to challenge them. Thank God for the United States where you can protest right in front of a SC Justice's home even though it's against the law and not get arrested. Of course if it was pro-life protesters in front of liberal Justice's homes they would have been rounded up in a New York minute.

Simply answer…pro-life protests would have been labeled as intimidation in front of Liberal Supreme Court Justice’s homes versus the pro-choice protests would not be labeled as intimidation in front of Conservative Supreme Court Justices homes.My

 

Hats off to this lady for going against the grain. If she wasn't disturbing the peace, I don't find her private praying to be offensive anywhere it's done. Maybe the proper UK ought to practice what they preach and try for some of that old fashioned civility that they demand of others.
