I'm not the one who said Puerto Ricans hate all OTHER Americans because of the
    way they dealt with ME.

I SERVED with Puerto Ricans: meaning I literally breathed the same air they
breath for months at a time and for years totaled and I am not afraid to say
you don't know what you are talking about.

But I would not presume because of the way they dealt with me I knew how they
felt about anyone else, let alone, five million other Puerto Ricans.

When I have a problem with ANYONE else, I always think it is more likely than not
about my personal relationship, however brief.

I am saying land doesn't vote.

Am I not clear on that?

If you like, you can also say one American has exactly the same number of votes
as another American without regard to acreage owned.

I am reminded of the story of the citizen touring a US battleship crying about the way
ship that she thought she was being treated and the captain stopped the tour, bent over,
scraped the deck of the ship, and handed her a splinter.

There you go, madam, he says, there is your portion of the taxes you paid, now get
    the hell off my ship!

PS: More red states are on the take in the US than blue states.

Support a Free and Independent Puerto Rico!
Statehood would absorb too much of our resources and would be a beacon for refugees in a Caribbean entry into :flagus:.

    Moi :oldman:

    r > g

    :flagcanada: is bad enough.
    Now Puerto Rico

Which had nothing to do with my statement, you are trying to change the goal posts because you are embarrassed of your answer.

It's true, Puerto Ricans tolerate Americans, some may even like them. but for the most part there's a resentment there.

I lived in PR for 4 years and even married a Puerto Rican girl. While much of the island speaks and understands English, many don't and some refuse to. Their libraries might only have a few hundred books, the police are corrupt (the entire government is corrupt) I believe 1 out of every 5 jobs is a government job, there is horrific poverty, and the island takes in a lot of drugs where it becomes easier to get them state side. Building anything there takes forever because of a time honored culture of making the job last because the next job might be a year or two away. The tourist areas of San Juan, Dorado, Isla Verde are nice, but once you leave those areas you are pretty much in third world territory, especially if you venture away from the coast and into the mountains. The upside is the people can be the most friendly and helpful people around. After experiencing Puerto Ricans in the New York area I was surprised to see how hospitable they could be - they might not like Americans as a whole, but the like people individually. I was the best man at Julio Martinez's wedding, he's the nephew of Chi Chi Rodriquez. It's also a gun free island that has plenty, and I mean plenty, of guns. Finally, the island gets a good deal of illegals from the Dominican Republic.

The obstacle overcoming statehood comes from the people who want independence. They know they will never win, so they vote to remain a territory and in the past that made all the difference. I recall when I was there they had 3 options which were slightly different than what they have now. They had statehood, independence and 'enhanced' commonwealth. The enhanced part meaning they wanted more money from the US and that fried my onions - they wanted to vote themselves more money.

There's not a state in the USA that you can go and not find people there
who resent the other 49 states.

    And . . . apparently . . . Puerto Rico.

Most people don't jump to the conclusion it is the rest of the state's fault
that one person doesn't like the rest of the USA.

Compared to the 300 million guns stateside.

Putting aside ... you are making things up about it being "gun free". unless you are
    saying guns are free?

You're right, I'm full of crap.

Stop pretending you know everything, all you're doing is exposing how little you know. But you breathed with Puerto Ricans and that makes you an expert. LOL HAHAHAHHHAAAA lololol

The library in my town shut down because the citizens didn't want to pay 39 cents per thousand.

As I recall. . . it might have been lower than that.

Make sure you make it clear you said it.

I get tired of being blamed for things I haven't said but people insist I inferred.
