Putin says battle for Bakhmut is over, thanks Wagner mercenaries and Russian army

After a long battle, much of it building to building and block to block, Russia has captured Bakhmut (now Artyomovsk).

Ukrainian counteroffensive still delayed due to a variety of reasons. Its good to be prepared, but gives Russia even further time to fortify their line which they have been doing heavily in southern Ukraine.

 

I reckon one contributing factor to the "counteroffensive" is that a boatload of ammo was taken out a few weeks ago by Russian missiles.

The Pentagon Choir will deny that happened of course....

 

Ukraine still denies the claims and say they have forces in Bakhmut/Artyomovsk. Not seeing any war map makers making this claim, or having the city being encircled or partially encircled by Ukrainian forces.

Statement from Biden on the situation,its in Japan so he invoked comparisons to Hiroshima's devastation from the bomb where the conference is being held. Claims Russian losses are 100k in the battle to take the city.

Ukrainians into Open fields where they are (as we speak) are being chewed up by Russian Artillery

I expect that we'll hear that it was never important anyway, and wasn't strategically significant.

 

Bakhmut is a key strategic city geographically for Donetsk, Luhansk, Severodonetsk, Slavyansk and Kramatorsk. It's located in the middle of the field. If Ukraine fails in Bakhmut, the spring offensive is done.

 

Anyone who doesn't turn a blind eye to reality is a "Russia lover"...lol

 

NATO has 30 times the GDP of Russia and back then 30 times as many countries, plus the whole of the rest of the World is on our side.

So given the hot war started when the US artillery arrived near Donetsk on Feb 16th 2022, and the war in Ukraine would be expected to last 3 weeks at the most, if Russia did not immediately capitulate,

we can safely put in the diary the war ended by or before March 9 2022.

Bakhmut served its intended purpose, grinding down the orcs and fixing them in place while Ukraine builds up its forces. Now Russia occupies a medium-sized city that's literally been reduced to rubble. Bakhmut, in the lowlands, faces open fields to the west, overlooked by high ground that Ukraine occupies. There's no hope of Russia advancing in that direction, and if a Russian shows their head in western Bakhmut, Ukrainian artillery will remove that head.

 

Ukraine has 7,056,742 fighting age males. Russia has 33,098,306. Those numbers are from 2009, but it illustrates how wide the gap is between each country's manpower resources. Russia can absorb way more casualties than Ukraine can.

 

Russia is on its way to breakup....process has already begun.
