As the country emerges from the economic ravages of the shutdowns and lockdowns imposed for a lot longer than the initial “two weeks to flatten the curve” (remember that lie?), we’re starting to get a better look at just how bad it was and which parts of the nation suffered the most.

But we’re also beginning to see the political effects as well, and Americans should really take note of that as we move out of this pandemic (and before the next one hits — there’s always a next one).

“States that voted for President Joe Biden in the last election lost more than twice the number of jobs during the pandemic on average during the pandemic than states who voted for former President Donald Trump, according to a recent study,” Breitbart News reported.

    https://trendingpolitics.com/report...-as-many-jobs-as-blue-states-during-pandemic/

The contrast between red states and blue ones regarding unemployment and the economy could not be more stark. There was no real correlation between lockdown and open states infection and death rates. One would think that lockdown states would have had fewer infection, hospitalization, and death rates tan open states. It didn’t happen! The real differences were in the effects on unemployment and the economy.

California and New York are among the most populated states, and have large
segments of international business tourism and trade.
Nevada and Hawaii rely on tourism.
So which political party runs them makes little difference in this situation.
Why would you have to have that explained to you?

Yup. The Blue State Model is Central Command, Inflation and Shortages.

The Red State Model is Freedom, Liberty, Jobs and Prosperity.

Maybe you can’t see the chart. See the discrepancy in distribution?

You understand that states with higher tourist based economies are going to get hit the hardest during a pandemic
that shut off tourism, right. Do you really need to be led by the hand on this?

As is FL, yet look how quickly we recovered comparatively. What possibly could be the difference? And it’s not like FL doesn’t rely on tourism n stuff. /derp

It’s called shutting down your economy for political BS. TDS and hating your own people. Dems are truly excellent at totalitarian control. FL is basically the benchmark at doing it right. And when you consider how elderly and susceptible our population is compared to other populace states and our death tolls, it’s truly remarkable how utterly shitty CA and NY managed it all.

    California had 62,000 deaths.
    Florida had 35,000 deaths.

California has a population of about 39 million.
Florida has a population of about 21 million.

So percentage wise, almost an equal number of deaths per thousand. Don't see anything special about that.

Yeah I’m going to need you to lead me by the hand on how what you just said explains Mass, Illinois, RI, Conn., Michigan, NM, NJ, VT and PA.

You conveniently ignored NY. ~20 million people and ~52,000 deaths. WAY worse, thanks to Cuomo's "leadership".

The shutting of businesses and it attendant loss of jobs was the hidden primary purpose of the shut downs -- epitomized by NY and CA. As the WHO early on declared that shut downs had little affect on the pandemic the governors double downed on their containment.

    Tell me more excuses....they're fun.

Can't dispute the info.....so attack the website as the 'source' when it isn't the source at all.

Why does this have to be pointed out to you all the time?

Are you not capable of understanding what a 'source' is?

Shall I provide a definition? Or would the truth get in the way of pushing your agenda?

Blue states are the major employer states in our nation who carry many of the red states which cannot support themselves. Many red states are charity cases supported by the taxes paid by blue states.

    I have no "agenda". Period.

I am well aware of what a "source" is, and yes--I am capable of understanding what a "source" is.

In any event, you may want to considsr ratcheting back the shady personal remarks that could be construed as an unprovoked attack on my character.
    ^Just a friendly reminder.

    It isn't a good look.
Especially, when you've got nothing else.:bored:

Now, back on-topic to the OP, the entire premise of the OP is beyond misguided.

The Use of the terms "Red" and "Blue" is an obvious (and Epically FAILED) attempt to attack Democrats (aka "Blue states").

There are many reasons for the disparities (as others have pointed out), which have absolutely nothing to do with whether or not the state is " Blue" or "Red".

Glad to clear that up for you.
    You're welcome :flagus:

If you were aware of what a 'source' is then you wouldn't have posted something so blatantly wrong and incorrect.

You also would probably actually address what I said (not that I expected you too....you never actually respond to anybody).

You are, IMO, the most condescending poster here (seriously, every post you make you treat who you quote in an incredibly condescending manner) so if you take my post personally, I don't care....not even a little. Also, I simply asked you a question (I'm assuming that's what hurt your feelings). If it offended you....not my problem.

Democrats manipulated the virus in order to gain political capital for themselves both in the general election as well as amassing power in the governor's mansions. But that equally means they can't blame Republicans should there be a downturn in the Biden Administration.

You wanted Biden, you got Biden.

Fridays job numbers are a direct correlation to that assessment.
Instead of around a Million jobs reported it was close to a quarter million.
266,ooo_One could ask and demand what Biden's supporters think.
But then that's like asking what came first the chicken or the egg.
    The Radicals or the Biden's.
